Christmas is the season of giving and a time to remember those less fortunate than ourselves—a vital expression of the values of our School. We are proud and delighted by the enthusiasm with which our pupils have embraced the spirit of kindness.
With so many House activities taking place across the School this weekend, we thought it would be helpful to share a summary with you! See below for details on House endurance events and a special mention of the Big Give Christmas Challenge, which supports the Roger Lupton Scholarship & Bursary Fund.
These are by no means the only activities pupils have been working on! Robertson House—featured in our main image—hosted a sensational auction at their recent parent dinner, raising £1,421 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Lupton House has been collecting donations for rucksacks to distribute to the homeless. Additionally, we’ve seen significant contributions to our Ukraine Christmas Boxes appeal and the Morecambe Food Bank.

School House: 24 Hour 'Tribe' Bikeathon
School House is supporting Sedbergh School's Christmas Charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust. Our aim is to see how far we can cycle, as a house, away from Sedbergh! Can we make it to London? Barcelona? Sydney? To complete our challenge, School House will split into 5 mixed year group Tribes - all 61 boys will do 2 hours of Watt bike cycling to push their tribe to be the best over 24 hours. Powell House: 24 Hour Rowathon
Powell House is delighted to support Sedbergh School's Christmas Charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust. Our aim is to row 280 miles in 24 hours. This represents the distance from Powell House to the Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital in Surrey. Instagram @powellhouse.sedbergh
Evans House: 24 Hour Triathlon
Evans House are doing their bit to support two fantastic causes by completing a 24 hour triathlon. This event will also raise funds for our House charity, Restart Africa. Instagram @evanshouse.sedbergh
Big Give Christmas Challenge Week
Midday 3rd – Midday 10th December 2024
One child, one life, one education, one opportunity. ‘Charlie’ comes from a disadvantaged background. He is a talented boy who has all the promise of genius held in his youth. The Headmaster, Dan Harrison, has identified Charlie as someone the School should support such that his aptitude and flair find fertility in our Cumbrian soil. We ask therefore if you can help us during the Big Give Christmas Challenge Week such that we can make Charlie’s dream come true.
