Presidents' Climate Leadership Commitments 3.0
Participate in a Unique Opportunity

During the 2022 Higher Education Climate Leadership Summit, we announced a year-long process to redefine the Presidents' Climate Leadership Commitments (Commitments) and their path forward.

The Commitments are the foundation of the Climate Leadership Network – Second Nature’s signature program and the cornerstone of the important climate work we do with many of you.

Our goal for this process is to reflect necessary and foundational framing in climate justice principles, update existing technical guidance to reflect the urgency of the climate crisis, and consider various membership models.

The focus of this revision process will be focused on three overarching areas:
1. Climate Justice
2. Claims, Targets, and Technical Guidance
3. Membership

You are an important part of this process.  We value you and request your input.  Here's how you can get involved:

  • We are forming a working group to brainstorm with us and provide input.  Express your interest to join here.

  • Not interested in the working group, but still want to contribute to this process? Let us know how here (example: you want to recommend an inclusive resource).
I want to give my input!

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT

Nelnet Renewable Energy logo

Second Nature is pleased to welcome Nelnet Renewable Energy as an Affiliate Sponsor.  Building on their solar development division focused on higher education, they are soon launching Net Zero as a Service offering full-scope solutions to help higher education institutions (HEIs) reach carbon neutrality.

To bolster this effort, Nelnet has developed a five- to seven-minute survey for sustainability professionals at colleges and universities aimed at better understanding challenges as you work towards your climate and sustainability goals.  This research will culminate in a paper set to be published in early July, as well as the development of a full-scope net zero solution in the marketplace.

After completing the survey, you’ll have the opportunity to be entered to win a $100 Patagonia gift card – for all your outdoor adventuring needs.
