Our Vision for a Just Australia 2025

An update of the Uniting Church resource Our Vision for a Just Australia has been released ahead of the 2025 Federal Election.

The resource expresses our hopes for Australia to be a nation that is just, compassionate, inclusive and courageous.

Our Vision for a Just Australia is a collaboration of those engaged in working for justice across the Uniting Church's Synods and agencies.

Moderator Elect Nominations

New Moderator to be Elected

A new Moderator is elected every three years and is the pastoral and spiritual leader for the Uniting Church in WA.

In September this year, at the 49th Annual Meeting of the Synod of Western Australia, the Uniting Church WA will elect a new Moderator-elect.

This person will succeed Rev Dr Ian Tozer as Moderator commencing at the 50th Annual Meeting of the Synod of WA in September 2026 for the triennium 2026 to 2029.

President's Easter Message

The 2025 Easter message from Uniting Church in Australia President Rev Charissa Suli is now here to give hope and inspiration to your Easter season!

Inspired by the women who faithfully came to the tomb in the early morning and had their sorrow transformed into joy, the President calls to us to rise from our tombs and live as Easter people.

Good Sammy opens new store in Busselton, boosting local employment and sustainability (Good Sammy)

Special Synod Meeting and Apology to Congress (UCWA)

On Saturday 22 March 2025 a special meeting of the Synod of Western Australia was held to discuss matters relating to the Beananging Kwuurt Institute (BKI). Reports were received by the Moderator, Rev Dr Ian Tozer, by the Synod Standing Committee, the Nominating Committee, and the BKI Board. The meeting concluded with the Moderator reading an Apology to Congress.  Read Article

 

President's statement on Constitutional Court of Korea ruling (UCA)

Uniting Church President Rev Charissa Suli has shared a statement and prayer after the Constitutional Court of Korea upheld the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk Yeol.  Read Article

 
 

 

  • Myanmar Earthquake Appeal - UnitingWorld have activated an appeal for those wishing to donate to assist with emergency aid and recovery in Myanmar following the devastating earthquake on 28 March.  The ACT Alliance, a global Christian humanitarian network that includes UnitingWorld, has requested help to resource a coordinated response. Implementing partners have begun rapid needs assessments and will be responding as resources allow. The urgent needs right now are the distribution of food, water and shelter, prioritising the hardest-hit regions.

  • Formation for All Day - There are many tasks and roles in the church community that may seem simple for some, but for others can be a bit of a mystery. The Uniting Centre for Education and Formation invite you to their next Formation for All Day on Saturday 3 May from 9.30am to 2.30pm at Mount Pleasant Uniting Church. The theme for this day is ‘Help! I’ve been asked to…’ where they will help unpack some of the mystery around some of these church tasks and roles.

  • Way of the Cross - Margaret River Uniting Church are hosting 'Way of the Cross: A Contemplative Art Series' by artist Nari Jones from Friday 11 April to Tuesday 22 April at their church on Tingle Ave, Margaret River. 
  • Walk as One at 1 - on World Labyrinth Day, Saturday 3 May, join Margaret River Uniting Church as they walk the labyrinth which will be set up in the church.  The walk will be preceded by a talk by artist Nari Jones on labyrinth walking as a spiritual practice.  All are welcome. 
  • ARRCC WA Meeting - Join the WA Chapter of the Australian Religious Response to Climate Change in their online meeting, which is open to anyone to take part, on Thursday 10 April 2025, 7.00pm (AWST) . This will be an online meeting via zoom - contact Ken Devereux for the link - arrccwa@arrcc.org.au
