SCHOOL HOLIDAY FUN

We've got plenty of activities to cure the school holiday boredom over the next two weeks.

With school holidays now here, we’ve put together some great activities to keep your little (and big!) ones busy.

Whether it's some easter craft, badge making, swimming lessons, or a trip to the Melbourne Zoo, we've got something for everyone.

Take a look at our events and see what activities the kids might like to join.

Spots at most of the events are limited, so you will need to book. Please check the event details closely and get in quick to secure your place.

DIRECTOR HONOUR Mitchell leader inducted on roll

We're celebrating our Director Advocacy and Communities, Mary Agostino, after she was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women last week in recognition of her significant leadership contribution to disaster.

The Leading through Disaster category recognises women whose influence, example and leadership have supported communities to respond, recover and rebuild in times of disaster.

Mary was recognised for her work in establishing the Mitchell Leadership Alliance, where she brought together CEOs of local health and community service providers to develop a coordinated approach for people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This award is a fitting tribute to Mary's hard work and we are very proud to see her recognised in this way.

TAKING ACTION Mitchell joins partnership

Recently Mitchell joined 165 other councils from across the country and become a member of the Cities Power Partnership (CPP).

The partnership provides councils with a great opportunity to share knowledge and work together to create meaningful action on climate change.

To become a member of the partnership, we had to commit to five key partnership pledges and we''ll need to report on their progress annually.

Follow the link below to learn more about what we're doing as a Council.
