JOTTINGS OF
A PERSONAL JEWELLERMAY 2025 NEWSLETTER
Hello! Welcome to my May 2025 newsletter.
Winter is finally upon us and even though things generally start quietening down at this time of year, I am well and truly inundated with work of all sorts, as well as designing some really special pieces.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I thought I would offer some great gift ideas for that special someone, coupled with some fascinating stories of mothers through history! Check out my Instagram page to read more. And if that wasn't enough, I am also running a very special giveaway where you can win a $500 Circa AD Jewels gift card!
For every $250 spent on ANY jewels, you will receive an entry in to the draw. The gift card can be redeemed on any purchase, and also includes re-inventing your jewels! So if you have something that’s been sitting around that you would like to have brought into the 21st century why not check out all of the gorgeous jewels on offer. Find out more on my website, and read the competition terms and conditions here. Good luck!!
Another early start on ABC National Radio with Trevor Chappell recently, but rewarded with some excellent questions! Our chosen subject this month was engagement rings, which lead to all sorts of other jewels. It’s always an "Aladdin’s Cave" when it comes to these early morning chats! You can listen to the interview here.
I now have monthly talks at the RACV - City Club right up until the end of the year. It seems hard to believe that King Charles III’s Coronation was 2 years ago! So for those of you who missed my "Jewels of a British Coronation” now is your opportunity to hear all about the jewels worn in a custom dating back over 1000 years. Should you wish to know what all the other talks are planned at the RACV this year please email events@circaADjewels.com and my assistant Kate will get back to you.
On the topic of designing very special pieces, one such piece is this beautiful uncut Amethyst, designed as an 18 carat gold-mounted brooch/pendant, where we used some “leftover” Diamonds that the client had sitting in a drawer. The brooch itself is based on a wonderful piece designed by Alan Yard of London back in the 1970’s but with an Australian interpretation. Each concave triangular leaf was handmade and the whole piece took over 45 hours to make. My client’s response on seeing this work of art and jewel was WOW…. multiple times!!
Finally, as there are a few new pieces in this Mother’s Day promotion to view, here is one of my old favourites that I currently have back in stock. A wonderful multi-coloured rope of South Sea pearls including whites, greys and golds in softer tones. For further details please click here.
So that’s it for this month. When updating my Elizabeth Taylor talk recently, I found a lovely quote to end on. “Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick and pull yourself together!"
Warmly,
Adrian
