President's Statement on Middle East

A Call to Peace and the Protection of Human Life

As violence escalates across the Middle East, Uniting Church in Australia President Rev Charissa Suli has issued a statement calling for peace and the protection of human life.

"The Uniting Church in Australia has long affirmed that peace is at the heart of the gospel. The Assembly has declared that God came in the crucified and risen Christ to make peace and calls Christians to be peacemakers, and that the burden of proof rests – on those who resort to military force as a means of resolving international disputes."

President’s National Online Prayer Service
On Monday 9 March 2026 at 5.30pm AWST (8:30pm AEDT), Rev Charissa Suli will host a National Online Service of Prayer for Peace in the Middle East, bringing together members of our Church and Middle Eastern communities across Australia in prayer and solidarity. Register here.

IWD2026

President's International Women's Day Video Message

Uniting Church in Australia President Rev Charissa Suli has shared a video message to the UCA community for International Women's Day 2026 reflecting on the theme 'Balance the Scales', reminding us that equality does not happen by accident.

She affirms that throughout scripture, women have courageously proclaimed God’s saving work and that their witness is woven into the gospel story.

Celebrating Uniting Church Women
To mark IWD 2026 people from across the UCA were invited to nominate inspiring women whose lives reflect faithful leadership, compassion and witness.
You can read about some of the Uniting Church women who were nominated here.

Mission Reflections

Mission Reflections

Presbytery Minister (Mission) Rev Luke Williams reflects on the first six months in the role.

"Over the past six months I’ve tried to engage as widely as possible, listening carefully and exploring creative ways forward, particularly when the future is unclear. I’ve observed a common theme: uncertainty. Many have questions about long-term sustainability, about what wise financial management and stewardship of property looks like, about the challenges of ageing members."

In the article Luke reflects on the changes in the Presbytery, the challenges and crossroads many congregations face and offers an invitation to equip congregations in building a discipling culture.

Dovetales

Dovetales - Uniting Church WA News

Dovetales is a new printed publication for the Uniting Church WA community.

Since the pausing of Revive magazine the majority of our Uniting Church WA communication is now online through our website stories, News and Notes e-news and our social media sharing.

However we know that for some people in our community digital information isn't always accessible.  So this year we are offering something new - Dovetales. This eight-page printed news publication will be posted out in the Congregation mailout to every Uniting Church WA congregation, school and agency next week, and then on a three-monthly basis. It will also be made available as a print-friendly PDF for congregations to produce more if they would like to share them with members of their community.

If you're already connected through News and Notes you will most likely be across the news and stories we have shared, however we hope this is a helpful resource for reaching out to more members of our UCWA community.
