As Mental Health Awareness Month has just drawn to a close, National Medical Fellowships reaffirms our commitment to advancing both mental and physical health. The connection between the two is clear: treating mental health conditions can improve physical outcomes—and addressing physical illness can ease mental health burdens.

Supporting the wellbeing of medical students and physicians is critical. According to the 2024 Medscape Physician Burnout and Depression Report:

  • 49% of physicians report burnout

  • 20% say they’re experiencing depression

To provide exceptional care, our health care professionals must also care for themselves.

At NMF, we create supportive spaces and programs to address these needs—through community gatherings, candid conversations, and more to come. You can help us grow this work.
