Spring 2025 Environmental Humanities Course Guide: Yale offers dozens of courses each year approaching environmental issues from diverse humanities perspectives. Some courses are entirely focused on the environment and the humanities; others approach the environmental humanities as one of several integrated themes. Enrolling in YSE courses | To register for a YSE course, enter the course on your registration worksheet for zero credit, then during the Add/Drop period complete a Request to Enroll in a Professional School Course (Blue Form) to receive permission of the instructor and professional school. If approved, the Yale College Registrar’s Office will award appropriate course credit. Note: Additional YSE courses will be added up until YSE registration starts on January 6th.

Ashley's with Marla Marcum | Tuesday, November 12th 7:30 pm @ Ashley's Ice Cream | Join YSEC and enjoy free ice cream and chat with Marla Marcum! Marla is the Director and Co-Founder of the Climate Disobedience Center, a catalyst for direct action in the climate debate. Opportunities

The CC Lab is looking for student research assistants for the spring semester. The CC Lab is a climate non-profit based in New Haven. They spun out the Yale School of the Environment earlier this year but continue to have many ties to Yale. Their mission is to develop and support emergent climate solutions by applying scientific, entrepreneurial, and investment expertise. Apply by November 30. Details and application here. 

Summer Opportunities

Behavior, Ecology and Conservation Research Opportunity in Argentina May 26-July 18, 2025 | Dr. Eduardo Fernandez-Duque, Yale University and Dr. Alba García de la Chica, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina are seeking six undergrad students to join a yearlong program that includes preparatory training during the Spring, field research during 8-weeks (May 26-July 18, 2025) and data analyses and writing up of results during the following fall. Participants in the program will conduct research on animal behavior, ecology, and conservation in Formosa, a province located in northeast Argentina. The program will cover domestic and international travel to and from the field site, lodging and transportation and receive a $4,000 stipend; a first payment will be provided before the program begins, the remaining payments will be made through the program and when it finishes. Post Grad Opportunities

PhD Position Iowa State University: Pollinators in Soybeans | Fully funded. Enroll in either the Wildlife Ecology program in the Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management or the Entomology program in the Department of Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Microbiology at Iowa State University. Apply by: 11/29/2024. Qualifications: B.S. .in Entomology, Wildlife Sciences, Biology, Ecology, or a related field. Funding: The student will be supported by a research assistantship with a stipend of approximately $27,000 per year.
