ITHS: APPLY FOR THE CLINICAL RESEARCH INTENSIVE SUMMER PROGRAM (CRISP)

CRISP, the Clinical Research Intensive Summer Program, provides clinical investigators with hands-on experience and key clinical research skills to accelerate their career development. The course runs from July 6–24, 2026 and requires full-time commitment. Applicants will be contacted by January 26, 2026, or within two weeks after submission, whichever is later. ITHS KL2 SCHOLAR, DR. GERMÁN GORNALUSSE, RECOGNIZED BY THE NCATS ADVISORY COUNCIL

Dr. Germán Gornalusse, an ITHS KL2 Scholar, was recently recognized at the 2025 fall NCATS Advisory Council Meeting for his incredibly innovative research focused on the intersection of HIV/AIDS pathogenesis. ITHS: TEAM SCIENCE SEMINAR SERIES 2025–2026 [SESSION THREE]: ACCELERATE YOUR TEAM’S DEVELOPMENT: UNDERSTANDING THE THREE ENABLING CONDITIONS FROM THE SIX CONDITIONS FRAMEWORK

In the third session, we will examine the three key “Enabling Conditions” from the Six Conditions for Team Effectiveness Framework: Sound Structure/Work Design, Supportive Context/Organizational Support, and Team Coaching.

ITHS VISITING SCHOLAR GRAND ROUNDS – VANESSA KENNEDY, MD

Visiting Scholar, Vanessa Kennedy, MD, examines real-world treatment patterns among older adults diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), with a particular focus on the use of allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Her project explores how emerging treatments have influenced clinical decision-making, transplantation rates, and overall care strategies in this patient population.

UW NUTRITION & OBESITY RESEARCH CENTER: PILOT AND FEASIBILITY AWARDS

The UW Nutrition and Obesity Research Center (NORC) and UW Diabetes Research Center (DRC) is soliciting applications for Pilot and Feasibility awards.

Letters of intent and reviewer nomination forms must be uploaded on the DRC website, using the forms available online, and are due by January 12, 2025. The deadline for full applications is February 28, 2025

 

UW DIABETES RESEARCH CENTER: NEW INVESTIGATOR AND MCABEE AWARDS

The Diabetes Research Center (DRC) is soliciting applications for the New Investigator and McAbee Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards.

  • DRC New Investigator Awards support UW faculty making a first entry into diabetes research.
  • DRC McAbee Postdoctoral Fellowships offer up to two years of support for a postdoctoral fellow (M.D. or Ph.D.) engaged in full time research training.

SMALL GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE NCATS CLINICAL AND TRANSLATIONAL SCIENCE AWARD (CTSA) PROGRAM (R03 CLINICAL TRIAL OPTIONAL)

The purpose of this NIH Notice of Funding Opportunity is to enhance the capability of NCATS CTSA Program KL2/K12 scholars supported by the CTSA Program to conduct translational science research as they complete the transition to fully independent academic translational scientists. Gift to help cover tuition for students in lab medicine

An estimated $50 million gift from an anonymous donor will cover the tuition for the senior-year clinical rotations of all undergraduate students enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Science Program. Students were told about the gift on Monday.

SEATTLE: SOUTH LAKE UNION COAT DRIVE FOR MARY'S PLACE

With the chilly days upon us, UW SLU Community has organized a warm clothing drive to support those in need within our community. You are invited to donate your gently used coats, jackets, sweaters, hats, mittens, blankets, and any other warm clothing items you no longer wear or use. Items will be donated to Mary’s Place, which provides emergency shelter and basic needs for families in our community. Donation boxes can be found in the UW SLU Admin and E building lobbies until Friday, December 19th.
