Uniting WA Christmas AppealMake a difference this Christmas Uniting WA's foster care service is a little bit different. Like most foster care services, Uniting WA’s carers step in to provide a safe and nurturing home when children can’t stay with their biological families. Unlike some other services, the children in their care have more complex support needs due to illness, disability and trauma.
This service is Specialised Foster Care. Uniting WA want to see every child reach their full potential – and with the support of a caring community – we can help them thrive. This Christmas Uniting WA will have twice as many children in their care. This means they need your support now more than ever.
10 Christmas Gifts That Don't Cost the PlanetEach year, Christmas fuels a massive surge in global consumption and our planet is paying the price. We buy more, travel more, and produce nearly 30% more waste than at any other time of the year.
Thankfully there are changes we can make!
UnitingWorld have put together a helpful list of alternate Christmas gifts suggestions that still show our loved ones that we care, and reduces the surge in consumption that happens during this festive season.
Happy 75th Birthday JuniperCelebrating 75 years of caring for older Western Australians is a big achievement, and we congratulate Juniper on reaching this incredible milestone today.
The Juniper story started in 1949 with the opening of Hardey Lodge in Mt Lawley, caring for vulnerable older women widowed by the second World War. That sense of purpose to support others continues today.
