The book acknowledges God’s sovereignty over all creation, whether in a massive financial deal involving a multinational corporation or in the quiet ride to work of an entry-level employee.

Phil Smith ’77Phil is thrilled to share the release of his new book, The Way Back to One Another, which addresses the loneliness crisis impacting America, and
steps we can take as Christ-followers toward experiencing community as God intended.
Larry Judkins ’03At 78 years old, Larry retired from the oil industry, where he had worked since 2013. Before that, he was a background actor (also known as Rowdy Jackson) in more than 25 western films in Arizona. Larry appeared in the award-winning film The Scout and the Tracker.
Kathryn (Garcia ’06) CosnerKathryn and her husband, Brian, adopted three daughters from Colombia. She was also promoted to director of rehabilitation at the hospital where she works.
Zachary Ifland ’07Zachary helped lead Surfing The Nations (STN) in Hawaii for more than 10 years. Then, he pioneered STN in Huntington Beach, California. Now, he has relocated to launch a new STN location in Cerritos Beach, Baja Mexico, while managing Olas de Cerritos Hotel and Retreat. Zachary is grateful to APU for shaping his God First life.
Glenda Armand, MA ’11Glenda co-authored the children's picture book Ice Cream Man, which received the Texas Bluebonnet Award.
Justin Kemp ’16Justin works in political consulting and is a 2026 American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) 40 under 40 Award winner. Justin was chosen from a highly competitive field of nominations by an independent panel of judges and confirmed by the AAPC Board of Directors.
