Bury Cancer Support Centre receive Transformation FundEarlier this month, we presented a cheque of £3,000 to the local charity Bury Cancer Support Centre, as part of our Transformation Fund. Here are some of our May highlights:Corrie Gardeners Coronation PartyCorrie Gardeners held a Coronation Big Lunch Street Party, based at their Friendly Bench on Bank Holiday Monday. Over 60 people attended, raising £94 for Trinity Food Bank as part of the Big Help Out through tombola sales. Everyone had a great time with games, face painting, food and music. Upcoming Community WalkaboutsOver the next few months, we have a number of Community Walkabout planned for areas and estates across Bury. Walkabouts are a great way to let us know about any improvements you think need doing to your estate. Free Training CoursesOver the next few months, we're running number of free training courses for Six Town Housing residents and community volunteers. Bury VCFA are also running lots of free courses for community groups and voluntary organisations. New Top o’th Fields and Welcomb Walk TRA CommitteeEarlier this month, Top o’th Fields and Welcomb Walk Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) held their Annual General Meeting where they elected the new TRA committee. Northern Care Alliance Pre-Employment TrainingNorthern Care Alliance (NCA) are providing pre-employment training for a range of roles at Fairfield Hospital. This Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) opportunity is open to all candidates aged 18 and over who have a good level of spoken and written English.
