This year we chose Mamma Mia, the classic “jukebox musical” adaptation of the works of ABBA, featuring colourful costumes, hair-raising anthems and not one, not two, but three dads. Mr Milofsky took on the role of director once again after his successful work on last year's production of "Legally Blonde." Living up to the high standard set by that show proved to be a challenge, but this year's cast embraced it wholeheartedly. A special thank you goes out to Chloe O'Connor and Mia Murphy, who respectively brought all of the dancing and singing scenes to life. Without them, this show would never have progressed past the first notes of “I Have a Dream.” With Ava O’Brien and Ava Deacon taking on the two leading roles, the stage was set. Months of rehearsals were filled with technical hiccups, missed cues, forgotten lines, and countless practice runs of popular songs like "Voulez Vous." Despite these challenges, when it was finally time for performances, everyone rose to the occasion. The musical ran for three nights with standout moments including performances of "Mamma Mia," "Dancing Queen," "Take a Chance On Me," as well as emotional renditions of "Slipping Through My Fingers" and "The Winner Takes it All." A huge congratulations goes out to all members of the cast and
crew who brought this musical to life. Their hard work paid off as they delivered another fantastic production at The High School. When the curtains closed on the final night, it marked yet another memorable production in The Reynolds Hall. Science WeekScience and Geography week took place from the 13- 18 November. These subject teachers organized many activities during the week. There were quizzes such as a rock quiz with prizes to be won such as a scratch map and chocolate. Mr Terzioglu brought in his wooden turbine and brought his classes outside to show us how it worked. Classes went on nature walks on the school grounds. As part of science week, Mr Langrell brought in stick insects and cockroaches from UCD and students were able to hold them during lunch. The annual paper plane competition was held and organized by Ms Thorp and Mr Hilliard and adjudicated by myself and Eoin Kelly (Head Boy). There were prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. There were many quizzes daily as well. A big thank you to all the teachers involved especially Mr Terzioglu, Mr
Langrell, Ms Thorp, and Mr Hilliard.
