Mānawa maiea Matariki!
Mānawa maiea te ariki o te rangi!
Mānawa maiea te mātahi o te tau!
Maiea ngā hua nui, ngā hua roa kei mua i a tātou
Nau mai ki te kāpuitanga kaupapa kua horahia ai e Toi Tangata i tēnei wāhanga hirahira o te tau. As we welcome in te tau hōu Māori, we gaze ever so proudly across the motu with all the kaupapa that Ngāi Māori are leading and sharing with our whenua, hāpori, and whānau. I consider the recently revived ceremony of umu kohukohu whetū, the establishment of the Māori Health Authority, right through to the 40 year celebration of Te Kōhanga Reo. Through beautiful traditions and ceremonies we bid farewell to our hunga mate as they traverse the skies to become whetū and look to the bright future for all our uri whakaheke. Nau mai hoki mai ki tō tātou panui a hiko. To our wider Toi Tangata whānau, welcome back to our
Takurua update.
