For Immediate Release Irmo, SC native Jalin Hyatt, named the 2022 Blanchard-Rogers Trophy recipient from the South Carolina Football Hall of Fame. March 7, 2023 Greenville, SC: The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame (SCFHOF) has named Dutch Fork High School (Irmo, SC) alum, Jalin Hyatt, the 2022 Blanchard-Rogers Trophy recipient to be honored at the 10th Annual Enshrinement Ceremony on April 21, 2023, at the Hilton Greenville. The Blanchard-Rogers Trophy honors South Carolina’s most outstanding college football player (or SC’s Heisman) for the 2022 season. Mr. Hyatt was a junior receiver for the Tennessee Volunteers during the 2022 college football season. He was the most explosive receiver in the country, torching the Alabama defense for 6 receptions 207 yards and 5 touchdowns, and setting several all-time Volunteer records in the process. In 2022, he finished with 67 receptions for 1,267 yards and scored 15 touchdowns. During the season, he broke the single-game touchdown reception record (5 vs. Alabama), single-game points scored (30 vs. Alabama) and single-season receiving touchdowns (15) record. He produced 5 games over 100 yards receiving and multiple touchdowns in 2022. He earned Unanimous First-Team All-American honors, won the 2022 Biletnikoff Award (for best receiver in college football), and 2022 All-SEC First Team honors. At Dutch Fork High School, Mr. Hyatt was a four-star prospect and the nation’s 33rd-ranked receiver according to 247 composite rankings. He is the high school’s all-time leader in receiving yards (3,624) and receiving touchdowns (57). He led Dutch Fork to undefeated and state championship 5A titles in 2018 and 2019. Mr. Hyatt declared for the 2023 NFL Draft and will participate at the NFL Combine in March. He is currently considered to be a top playmaker in the draft with various projections landing him in the first round to be held the following week after receiving the Blanchard-Rogers Trophy. When Mr. Hyatt does go in the first round; he will be the fifth “SC Heisman” recipient in the award’s history to accomplish that honor. Mr. Hyatt is represented by CAA and Greenville, SC based sports marketing company Everett Sports Marketing (ESM). The Blanchard-Rogers Trophy is named after Heisman Trophy winners Felix “Doc” Blanchard (McColl,SC/Army/1945) and George Rogers (USC/1980). The trophy has been used to honor the South Carolina Collegiate Player of the Year since the 2016 season. The collegiate player of the year award has been given out by the SCFHOF annually since the 2013 season.
