Seafarers seapost

September 2022

Dear Supporter

On 2 October, The Seafarers' Charity runners will take to the streets of London for the famous London Marathon. We wish them good luck and look forward to cheering them on.

Earlier this month, Paul Butterworth, Chair of The Seafarers' Charity’s General Council, and Fredrick Onono, a member of staff and former RN, had the privilege of attending the state funeral of our late Patron, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, representing our cause, our KGFS heritage and our long-standing relationship with the Royal Family. Read on to learn how you can record a message of condolence and share your recollections of our late Patron with us.

In this newsletter, you will also find out how you can attend this year's Annual National Service for Seafarers, learn about our recent Merchant Navy Day campaign and download our new 'Coming out Toolkit'.

Finally, we are immensely proud to announce that our trustee, Robert Greenwood, has been awarded the prestigious Merchant Navy Medal for Meritorious Service.

Best wishes,
Luca Selvaggio
