NY Log-A-Load for Kids Update: New Leadership and Successful Fundraiser

We are pleased to announce that Trevor Keough, Forest Resource Development Analyst with The Baillie Group, has been appointed as the new Chairman of NY Log-A-Load for Kids. Trevor succeeds Mark Mowrey, who recently stepped down from the position after many years of leadership and dedication to the program.

Trevor shared the following about his new role:

“Log-A-Load for Kids is a great organization that has a meaningful impact on the communities where we practice forestry, live, and have strong connections. As an industry, it gives us an incredible opportunity to stay involved, create real change, and continue to grow while giving back. I’ve been fortunate to volunteer with Log-A-Load over the past few years and have personally felt the reward of supporting a cause that’s bigger than any one of us. Looking ahead, we want to expand our impact and presence across the state, and that will take a collective effort from all of us. I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to be more involved in such a worthwhile cause. If you, or anyone you know, would like to get more involved with Log-A-Load for Kids, please reach out—I’d be happy to connect.”

Big things are ahead, and we look forward to continued growth under Trevor’s leadership!

That momentum was clearly on display last week, when the Empire State Forestry Foundation and the New York Society of American Foresters partnered to host the first-ever NY Log-A-Load for Kids Cornhole Tournament at the annual NY SAF meeting in Syracuse. This fundraiser featured a round-robin cornhole tournament of 20 participating teams as well as a 50/50 raffle. Overall, it was a fun and successful event with all proceeds benefiting NY Log-A-Load for Kids.

The cornhole tournament champions were Jon Lasselle of The Baillie Group and Dan Sarandis of Sarandis Forest Services. The 50/50 raffle winner, Becky Jones of Amro Forestry, graciously donated her winnings back to Log-A-Load for Kids, helping bring the total raised to over $1,000.

We would like to extend our thanks to SAF for helping host the event and to everyone who attended and contributed to its success. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and continuing to see Log-A-Load for Kids make a positive difference for children and families across New York State!
