Gifts of Welcome and Care for Wyn Carr House

Gifts of Welcome and Care for Wyn Carr House

Wyn Carr House is a purpose-built transitional housing facility for older women, a group identified as one of the fastest-growing cohorts experiencing homelessness in Australia.

When members of the Wagin Uniting Patchwork group heard about the redevelopment of Uniting WA's Wyn Carr House in Fremantle as transitional accommodation for women over 55 experiencing homelessness, they found a practical way to contribute – handmade quilts to help women feel welcomed and cared for as they begin a new chapter in their lives.

Juniper Request for Crafters

Request for Crafty Helpers

Does your congregation have a regular craft group? The Pastoral and Spiritual Care Team at Juniper are looking for craft groups to help them re-stock their Prayer Quilts and Pocket Hearts.

Many of the quilts and hearts are in kit form ready to be put together.

They would also love to hear from any Men's Shed groups who could make comfort palm crosses.

Juniper use these items to help comfort residents and their families particularly if they are at end of life.

If you would like to help out please contact David van Leen, Manager Pastoral and Spiritual Care at Juniper - david.vanleen@juniper.org.au

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) runs from 27 May to 3 June each year. These dates commemorate two significant milestones - the 1967 Referendum (27 May), and the Mabo decision in the High Court (3 June). The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.  You can find the NRW WA program of events on the link below.

Uniting in Prayer - 30 Days, 30 Voices, One Church in Prayer
From Pentecost Sunday on 24 May to the 49th Anniversary of the Uniting Church in Australia on 22 June, the Uniting Church is embarking on a shared season of national prayer. Over these thirty days, thirty voices from across the Church will come together. Each day, a new voice will lead us in prayer, as one body around a single, unifying question: “What does it mean to be woven together in Christ's love across cultures and boundaries?"
Congregations and individuals are invited to journey with the Uniting Church in this prayer series beginning on Pentecost Sunday. The President's prayer guide and information about the National prayer chain are now available on the Uniting in Prayer webpage.
