Building Peace Together

Building Peace Together

What began as a simple idea has blossomed into a meaningful shared project between Rockingham Uniting Church and Tranby College.

Bringing together people from the church, the college and the wider community, the initiative reflects a commitment to peace, connection and collaboration. The Peace Pole project has created not only a lasting symbol of hope, but also another opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the congregation and its local Uniting Church school.

2026 Governor's Chaplaincy Awards

Congratulations Pastor Lindsay Ginn

Congratulations to Pastor Lindsay Ginn on being awarded Chaplain of the Year at the WA Governor's Chaplaincy Awards last week.

The Governor's Chaplaincy Awards recognise the dedication and impact of chaplains across the WA community. Lindsay, a Frontier Services Bush Chaplain based in Kalgoorlie, was presented the award recognising his pastoral service across the Goldfields, where he has been serving since 2020.

Uniting Church WA Moderator Rev David Jackson, while preaching on Frontier Services Sunday, recently spoke of Lindsay's ministry, "Lindsay travels more than a thousand kilometres most weeks, visiting remote schools, farming communities, aged care facilities, churches and isolated towns. But what makes his ministry remarkable is not the distance he travels. It is the people he sees. He knows their names, remembers their stories and walks beside them through life's joys and heartaches.
Lindsay's gift is music, but music is really just the doorway. Through school programs, choirs, worship services and visits to nursing homes, he creates spaces where people feel known and valued."

Held Together

Held Together - UCA President's Conference 2027

Help Send Our WA Young People to the Held Together President's Conference, January 2027

The President of the Uniting Church Rev Charissa Suli, together with the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC), is holding a four day gathering for young adults (18-35) in Kurrajong, NSW from 21 to 24 January 2027. This is the first national gathering of young people across the Uniting Church that we have had since 2019.

Can you help support our young people? We want to encourage as many WA young people as possible to attend, but finding the money for airfares can be challenging. We invite congregations or individuals that would like to help resource Uniting Church WA young people to donate as you feel able towards airfares.

For more information about supporting WA young people attending please contact Ps Julie Ridden - julie.ridden@wa.uca.org.au

Standing with our Pacific Partners

Solidarity with Pacific Islanders

Join people of faith across Australia standing together with our oceanic neighbours, calling for a Fossil Fuel Treaty.

Consistent with climate decisions of the recent WA Synod and in conjunction with ARRCC, the Australian Religious Response to Climate Change, the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty calls for faster action to stop new coal and gas production and speed up the transition to renewable energy sources. Cocos, Torres Strait, Tuvalu and Fiji are all impacted by rising sea levels resulting from global use of fossil fuels.

Come and stand in solidarity with our Pacific neighbours and call for the federal government to strongly support the Pacific Islanders appeal for international action at COP31.

Date: Tuesday 6 October 2026
Time: 10.00aM
Location: Wesley Uniting Church, Perth (outside)
Enquiries: Ken Devereux arrccwa@arrcc.org.au
