Statement on PalestineIn this season of Easter, Uniting Church in Australia President Rev Charissa Suli has released a public statement affirming the solidarity of the Uniting Church with the suffering people of Palestine. "As President of the Uniting Church in Australia, I am compelled to speak with moral clarity, compassion, and a heart broken open by the suffering we are witnessing. We cannot remain silent while bodies are crushed by bombs, children starve, and our Palestinian siblings in Christ fear for their very existence. If we do not speak, even the stones will cry out." Along with the statement, the UCA Assembly have provided a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document and a Liturgy of Lament for Gaza which can be used in worship.
Uniting WA Winter AppealTranby Engagement Hub is a place of connection and hope for roughly 300 West Australians experiencing homelessness every day. Uniting WA's Tranby Engagement Hub is open 7 days a week, 365 days per year. On average, there are 300 daily presentations at Tranby and up to 400 on some days. For people who have spent the night sleeping rough, Tranby is a welcoming place for a home-cooked meal and a hot shower, and so much more. The line for support at Tranby is out the door. Your donation to the Winter Appeal will help Uniting WA continue their work supporting the most vulnerable members of our community.
