Gateway to Industry Schools
Program Tender 📄
We would like to provide our network with an important update regarding the Gateway to Industry Schools (GISP) project. The current funding for the GISP project across 10 industries, including Health, will conclude on 31 January 2025. We understand the significance of this program for our schools and students, and we want to reassure you that we are committed to continuing this valuable initiative. Recently, the GISP Managers, including representatives from CheckUP, met with the Department of Small Business, Employment and Training (DESBT) to discuss the tender process for the next round of funding. We are pleased to inform you that we will be applying for this new round of funding with the aim to maintain business as usual in the new year.
The new round of funding will see the project continue until 2028. We expect to receive notification of the outcome of our application by October and we will keep you updated on any developments. We would like to thank all of the schools throughout the Health Gateway network for your involvement in the program over the years, and we are optimistic about the future of our partnership.
⭐ We'd like to introduce Donna! 👏
We would like to introduce Donna Glover to the Health Gateway network. Donna has joined our team as the new Gateway Regional Coordinator for all Health Gateway Schools outside of South-East Queensland. With her extensive experience and dedication to fostering strong connections between schools and industry, Donna is poised to make a significant impact on our regional schools. Donna comes to us with a wealth of knowledge from her previous role managing CheckUP's Youth Industry Partnerships for Education and Employment (YIPEE) program. During her tenure with YIPEE, Donna worked closely with schools and industry partners in North and Far North Queensland, creating meaningful pathways for students into various career opportunities. Her successful track record in these regions speaks volumes
about her ability to bridge the gap between education and employment. In her new role, Donna will be supporting all of our regional Health Gateway Schools, linking them with industry engagement opportunities and providing essential support for students' career pathways into the healthcare sector. Her commitment to enhancing outcomes for our network schools and her passion for healthcare make her a perfect fit for this position. Donna will be reaching out to all her schools over the coming weeks to introduce herself and start building the strong relationships that are vital to our program's success. We encourage you to connect with her and explore the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. We also want to take this opportunity to express our
heartfelt gratitude to our previous Outreach Regional Coordinators, Izzy, Amber, Cassie, Melanie and Lyn. Their hard work and dedication over the past 18 months have been instrumental in supporting our regional schools and laying the groundwork for future success. Please join us in welcoming Donna Glover to the Health Gateway team. We are confident that her leadership and expertise will bring tremendous value to our regional schools. *Please note, Sabrina and Kat will be supporting schools west of Ipswich to Toowoomba.
