The silly season has arrived! Enjoy this special delivery of essential reading over the holiday break - Ausfilm's wrap-up of the year.

The awards season has kicked off with The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards taking place this month, where Baz Luhrmann's Elvis reeled in a whopping 11 awards, including Best Film, Best Visual Effects; featuring the work of eight Ausfilm VFX members, Best Sound was a shared win for Ausfilm members Big Bang Sound, while Mandy Walker made history as the first female recipient of the Best Cinematography award!  Catherine Martin added two AACTA awards to her collection for Best Production Design (shared with Karen Murphy and Beverley Dunn) and Best Costume Design. Catherine Martin was also honoured for her outstanding global contribution and influence to film, with the Australian Academy’s most prestigious award – the Longford Lyell Award. Ausfilm congratulates Warner Bros. and all award recipients for this incredible achievement.
Meanwhile, KOJO won the Best Digital Series award for A Beginner's Guide to Grief. While The Post Lounge shared the Best Short Film award for Tanith-Glynn Maloney's Finding Jedda. Ausfilm extends enthusiastic applause to all those who received nominations or awards at this year’s event.
