Good Sammy Open Day
The Uniting Church WA community are invited to an Open Day at the Good Sammy Enterprises Canning Vale facility on Thursday 22 August from 10.00am to 12.00pm.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the work of Good Sammy, an agency of the Uniting Church. Enjoy a presentation from CEO Kane Blackman, a tour of their recycling facilities and a delicious morning tea. RSVP to Tina Cazzolli at events@goodsammy.com.au
Safe Church Awareness Workshop
A Safe Church Awareness Workshop is taking place on Saturday 10 August from 9.00am to 2.00pm at Rockingham Uniting Church, 4 Erindoon Way, Rockingham.
All ministers, pastors, church leaders, volunteers, members of congregations and those involved in community services are welcome and urged to attend. Refreshments will be provided. Cost is $30.

Retired Ministers Fellowship
The next gathering of the Retired Ministers Fellowship will be held on Thursday 15 August at Willetton Uniting Church commencing at 10.30am for morning tea.
The speaker will be Elise Batchelor – MC, Teacher and Writer. Elise will speak on the topic of ‘Expanding faith as a modern health practice.’

- Reflection from the NCCA President - A reflection from Rev John Gilmore, President of the National Council of Churches Australia, on being a guest at the recent 17th Assembly of the Uniting Church in Australia.
- Chittering’s Containers for Change transitions to Good Sammy Enterprises (Good Sammy) - Good Sammy Enterprises, a leading disability employer, is expanding its network of social enterprises by acquiring the Shire of Chittering’s Containers for Change operation. This addition supports the renowned WA organisation’s vision to transform workplaces and society through disability employment.
- Uniting Generations Network Meeting - is taking place on Thursday 15 August from 10.00am to 12.00pm at The Billabong Uniting Church, 40 Liffey St, Canning Vale.
- Musical Melodies Concert for Access Hope - St Peter and Emmaus Church are holding a fundraising concert in aid of the Access Hope Orphanage in Kenya. Join them for an afternoon of wonderful entertainment and a delicious afternoon tea, with special guests the South African Gospel Choir, The Waratah Community Singers, and Always in Song choir. Raffles and a Silent Auction also taking place. Donation entry (min $5). Saturday 10 August, 2.00pm to 4.00pm. St Peter & Emmaus Church, 56 Green St, Joondanna.
- Kalamunda Market Day - Kalamunda Uniting Church welcomes people to their next market day on Saturday 3 August from 9.00am to 12.00pm.
There will be delicious scones, cake and sandwiches to tempt you with your morning tea or coffee. Browse our book tables in the hall and the crafts, jams and cakes in the foyer and plants and bric-a-brac outside. Funds raised will be directed to various charities/appeals through the year.
