Hi sister,

Mālō e lelei

How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! (Ps 133:1)

Unity has a unique ability to inspire and empower, making it a truly beautiful and powerful thing. When women come together, supporting, and loving one another, it can bring about great benefits. It brings joy, peace, understanding and love in each individual, as well as in the ministry.

As women, we face unique challenges and struggles. But when we come together, we can overcome even the toughest obstacles. We can encourage and uplift one another, sharing our burdens and celebrating our triumphs.

In the body of Christ, with the different churches, backgrounds, and races we come from, we are all different parts, but we work together to form a beautiful whole. Just as a puzzle is made up of different pieces, each one uniquely shaped and sized, we are all unique individuals, coming together to form a complete picture of God’s love and grace.

As we strive for unity let us remember to focus on what brings us together, rather than on what divides us. Let us celebrate our differences and support one another, even when we disagree. And let us always remember that our unity is not just about us, but about the impact we can have on the world around us. Together, we can make a difference!

The Territory is looking forward to Together Congress this month, so let us stand together as women and show the world what it means to be unified in love and purpose. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus, serving and loving one another, and shining His light through us for all to see. Being like-minded, having the same love, being one in the Spirit and of one mind. (Phil 2:2)

Together Congress

In September 2025 we have a vision of salvationists gathering together from around our four nations to connect across cultures and generations in a way that reflects who we are today and who we hope to be tomorrow. We’ll see one another, gain strength from one another, and experience abundant life with one another. And we’ll also discover new ways to impact our communities as we go out again to live, work and serve together with the people in those communities.

Women's Ministries we be there and we would love to connect with you in person! From 3.30pm on the Saturday afternoon of Together Congress, come and find our stall, join in our craft activities or join us as we do the September resource giveaway. We would love to meet you!

Grandmothers Who Pray

The inspiration for beginning the “Grandmothers Praying for Grandchildren”, as part of Women’s Ministries at New Lynn Corps initially came from Major Annette Bray during her time as the Divisional Spiritual Life & Prayer Ministries Officer in the former Central Division.

We are privileged to pray for over eighty of our descendants, and not one is forgotten!

We join together to pray at 11.30am once a month, following the weekly Home League meeting and regularly have eight to fifteen women meeting together. Most ladies come to pray for their grandchildren, but two ladies come to pray for their nieces and nephews. Our prayers continue for grandchildren whose praying grandmother has entered heaven since this gathering began...

 Supporting Children in Nepal

Click Here to Watch our Interview with Emily

Emily Bray, a 21-year-old Salvationist from Oxford, just outside Christchurch, is taking meaningful steps to support children in Nepal through a new charity she’s founded. Her initiative, Child Nepal New Zealand, was born out of a personal experience that left a lasting impression.

Last year, Emily spent five weeks in Nepal on a mission trip, teaching in a local school. During her time there, she noticed that many students came to class without basic learning materials: no books, paper, or pens. Even the school itself lacked essential equipment. For Emily, who learns...

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Response Ambassadorship Programme

Kia ora! My name is Vanessa Opie, and I’m from Levin in the Manawatū-Whanganui region. This year, I’ve had the privilege of being one of the Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking (MSHT) Response Ambassadors.

I applied to be part of this programme because I wanted to better understand the issue of modern slavery and human trafficking, something I knew existed but hadn’t fully grasped in terms of its scale or...

What have our Women been up to?

Rally in Tonga

Eighty women attended the recent Women's Rally in Tonga. The theme was “The Power of Being Together.” Each Corps Home League presented a group item, a song sung by all, and shared a message through storytelling. Each chose a woman from the Bible and expressed her story in a unique and creative way.

It was a truly wonderful night! It was a special blessing to see new women attending the rally and even participating in the group items from their Corps. The evening raised over $1,200, with each Home League contributing.

Birthday in Hamilton

In July, the Hamilton City Home League celebrated their 96th birthday in style, with amazing decorations that wowed everyone as they walked through the doors!

Col. Annette Gower led a fun and inspiring meeting packed with games, creative activities, laughter, and of course... cake! The celebration wrapped up with a scrumptious high tea that had everyone smiling. God bless the Hamilton City Home League. Here’s to many more years of joy, connection, and community!

Crafternoon in Blenheim

Women of the Blenheim Corps recently gathered for a crafternoon. It was a perfect blend of creativity and community. These moments remind us how powerful it is to simply come together, slow down, and enjoy each other’s company while making something with our hands.

Breakfast in Whangārei

The women of the Whangārei Salvation Army filled their café space recently for breakfast. The theme was ‘Your Victory Brings Me Hope’. Women came together to share powerful testimonies, enjoy delicious kai , and uplift one another in faith
