Resources for Advent 2023The Uniting Church in Australia Assembly have collated a helpful summary of available Advent Resources to assist with worship planning and preparing for the season of Advent, which begins on Sunday 3 December. The UCA Assembly will also be sharing a series of reflections across the four weeks of Advent, focusing on different aspects of this season of preparation and written by four diverse voices. They will be released each Wednesday through National Update and on their social media.
Walk to save a life - reflections on Trek for Timor 2023This year the International Partnerships and Development Commission (IPDC) East Timor sub-committee decided to run two Trek for Timor events. One was in the South West near Bunbury, at Crooked Brook Forest, and one in the Perth metropolitan area, around the Canning and Mt Henry bridges. Both were successful in terms of enjoyment, fellowship and fund-raising. Read all about it on the blog today!

Wisdom - a reflection from Uniting Church President Rev Sharon Hollis. Uniting Church echoes calls for immediate ceasefire - The Uniting Church in Australia Assembly joins the World Council of Churches (WCC) in its demands for an
immediate ceasefire and the opening of humanitarian corridors in Palestine and Israel. Australian Refugee Action Network (ARAN) Letter Writing Action - People seeking asylum need a fair process. ARAN have made available a letter writing kit and information to encourage people to take action on this issue. In the kit you will find further background, postcards that can be printed off and mailing addresses for politicians. Equal Voices WA will be marching in the Perth Pride Parade on Saturday 25 November from 6.00pm. LGBTI+ Christians and allies are invited to march with, them however numbers are limited. Go to the Equal Voices WA event page for details and to register to take part. St Andrew's Uniting Church Community Market Day - come along to the Community Market Day at St Andrew’s Uniting Church on Saturday 25 November from 9.00am to 2.00pm. There will be a great range of items including books, music, plants, cakes, handcrafts, toys, clothes and bric-a-brac! Kalamunda Uniting Church Market Day - come along to their last Market Day of the year on Saturday 2 December from 9.00am to 12.00pm. There will be delicious scones, cake and sandwiches to tempt you with morning tea or coffee. Browse book tables in the hall and the crafts, jams and cakes in the foyer. Also plants and bric-a-brac. Community Christmas Fair & Market Stalls - Come along to the Community Christmas Fair and Market Stalls at Northway Uniting Church, Beldon on Saturday 2 December from 10.00am. There will be morning tea, sausage sizzle, raffle, over 20 stalls, entertainment, children’s play area. Free entry. A great family event. Bible Society Christmas Books Wanted - The Armadale Uniting Church is trying to find copies of the Bible Society's children's books, "God's Christmas promise " and "Who What Why". If your church has spare copies that
you will not be needing, could you please phone Sue on 0409903032. They are happy to share the postage costs.
