With a sense of loss and gratitude for a life of service and devotion to her Savior, we share news of the passing of June Hamlow ’58, faculty emerita in Spanish. She and her husband, Cliff ’56, met and married while at Azusa College, where she was elected student body president her senior year. After graduation, Cliff went on to serve as a long-time APU coach, administrator, and faculty member, also retiring with emeritus status. The Hamlows have notably been APU’s only husband/wife emeriti faculty couple. For more than 40 years, June actively engaged with students and faculty colleagues, inside and outside the classroom and at campus events. This continued through her retirement in 2007 and beyond. A rose garden on East Campus is named in her honor.
The Hamlow family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Azusa Pacific University in support of the Hamlow Endowed Student Scholarship Fund. To give online, go to apu.edu/give/, designate your gift to “I’ll type my designation below,” type in “Hamlow Endowed Student Scholarship Fund,” check the “Make this donation in someone’s honor or memory” box, and type “June Hamlow.”
