CEDAL Zoom Forums

The CEDAL review working group will be hosting seven online forums via zoom leading up to Easter. Everyone is welcome to attend as few or as many as possible. Please join the forums so the Commission can hear what is important to the future of education and learning within the Uniting Church in Western Australia.

Palm Sunday Walk for Peace & Justice for Refugees - 2 April

This annual event is an important advocacy opportunity co-hosted by the Uniting Church WA Social Justice Unit along with other church and community organisations. This year the walk is focused on peace and on justice for refugees and will take place in the city on Palm Sunday, 2 April, gathering on the grounds of St George's Cathedral in Perth starting at 1.00pm.

Uniting for the Voice

The Uniting Church National Assembly have published a new page on their website dedicated to supporting Uniting Church members to stay informed about the Voice and resourcing people to join and lead respectful conversations around the upcoming Referendum. The page will be updated with information and resources as they are developed.

What is Presbytery?

An information booklet and video were launched at the recent Presbytery meeting explaining the role of the Presbytery of WA.  These resources can now be downloaded from the website for use by congregations and individuals.

  • Congratulations to CARAD for winning the award for Best CALD Community Organisation at the 2023 Office of Multicultural Interests Multicultural Award.
  • Recognition for community contribution - A newly refurbished meeting room at the Fremantle Hospital has been named in recognition of the contribution to the community of Ballardong Whadjuk Noongar Elder and late Uniting Church minister Rev Sealin Garlett (RIP).
  • An Assembly Standing Committee update from their March 2023 meeting is now available.
  • Contextual Theology and Multicultural Ministry Intensive Weekend - Rev Dr Katalina Tahaafe-Williams will guide participants through a weekend of exploring what it means to be a multicultural church in 2023. The Intensive runs across the weekend of 21 to 23 April 2023 at Mt Pleasant Uniting Church. Registration is $75. 
  • Willetton Uniting Church invite you to an Easter Fun Fair on Easter Saturday, 8 April, from 9.30am to 12.30pm at 16 Herald Ave, Willetton. 
  • Easter Services Directory - A range of Easter services and events including Palm Sunday can be found on the Uniting Church WA website by searching our dedicated directory.

Presbytery Minister (Pastoral) - Presbytery of WA - Expressions of interest are invited from Ministers of the Word/Deacons to fill a vacant placement within the Presbytery of Western Australia. The Presbytery Minister (Pastoral) will ensure the health and vitality of ministers as well as congregations, ministering alongside members of the Pastoral Relations Committee within the Presbytery in their tasks of pastoral oversight.

Minister, Wagin Group of Congregations is a full-time vacant placement comprising three small rural congregations in the Wheatbelt area of Western Australia.  Worship services are conducted in the towns of Wagin (weekly), Darkan (twice monthly) and Dumbleyung (monthly), as well as a short worship service at the local aged care facility (twice monthly).  This single ministry placement is supported by a willing team of lay leaders and lay preachers.

Minister, Geraldton Lighthouse Congregation - Applications are invited for a Full-Time Minister/Pastor to fill a vacant placement at Lighthouse Church Geraldton. Lighthouse congregation is a multi-generational, contemporary, and evangelical congregation of the Uniting Church, located in Geraldton, a large coastal city 420kms north of Perth, Western Australia.
