KILMORE'S MAKEOVER Sydney St rejuvenation begins

One of the largest capital works projects undertaken in Mitchell for many years is now underway, with construction on Kilmore’s Sydney Street Rejuvenation Project beginning last week.

We've partnered with the Victorian Government for this $4.65 million project, with works set to transform the look of the street and celebrate its unique historic character.

If you'd like to ask questions about the project, a Council officer will be available at the Kilmore library every Tuesday (9am to 5pm) and Thursday (12 to 5pm) during the construction phase.

MANAGING FIRE RISK Pyalong works completed

We've just completed some important fire prevention works at Pyalong Recreation Reserve, after some community members expressed concerns about bushfire risk with the reserve’s proximity to the school and houses.

There is a substantial plantation of mature pine trees located along West Road and Northern Highway frontage of the reserve.

A CFA fire risk assessment concluded that the risk from the plantation was low and that reducing ground-level fuel would mitigate the low risk.
