Join us for the first night of the Autumn Movie Nights Under The Stars series from 5pm tomorrow at Goulburn Park in Seymour, with food vendors, roaming entertainment and Space Jam: New Legacy on the big screen under the night sky.

The weather is forecast to be a lovely 20 degrees, making it the perfect night for an outdoor cinema. There is limited seating and shelter, so we recommend bringing along a picnic rug or camping chair and some warm clothes so you can enjoy the movie in comfort.

KILMORE'S MAKEOVER Sydney St rejuvenation begins

One of the largest capital works projects undertaken in Mitchell for many years is now underway, with construction on Kilmore’s Sydney Street Rejuvenation Project beginning last week.

We've partnered with the Victorian Government for this $4.65 million project, with works set to transform the look of the street and celebrate its unique historic character.

If you'd like to ask questions about the project, a Council officer will be available at the Kilmore library every Tuesday (9am to 5pm) and Thursday (12 to 5pm) during the construction phase.

MANAGING FIRE RISK Pyalong works completed

We've just completed some important fire prevention works at Pyalong Recreation Reserve, after some community members expressed concerns about bushfire risk with the reserve’s proximity to the school and houses.

There is a substantial plantation of mature pine trees located along West Road and Northern Highway frontage of the reserve.

A CFA fire risk assessment concluded that the risk from the plantation was low and that reducing ground-level fuel would mitigate the low risk.

Anzac Day is a time for our community to come together and recognise and remember the sacrifice and service of the Australian Defence Force.

On Monday 25 April, services will be held in towns across Mitchell to commemorate the day. Visit our website for a listing of local services.

A reminder also that there are some changes to Council's operating hours on the day due to the public holiday. Some services will be closed or have reduced hours, while some services remain open.
