Hi there Welcome to the May Newsletter!

Love Windermere

Hi there,

Welcome to the Love Windermere May newsletter

May brings longer days, warmer temperatures, and growing numbers of visitors heading to the shores of Windermere and with the busiest months on the year now upon us, the work of Love Windermere has never felt more urgent or more important.

As Windermere comes alive with swimmers, paddleboarders, boaters and walkers, so too does the pressure on its water quality, wildlife habitats and the wider catchment. This edition reflects both the beauty of the season and the collective effort it takes to protect it.

We're sharing updates on our Action Plan progress,  news from our partner organisations working hard to reduce nutrient inputs and tips on what you need to know when taking a dip as the temperatures rise.

Whether you live beside Windermere, work within the catchment or simply love to visit there is a role for everyone in protecting this extraordinary place. Thank you for staying connected and for caring.

Past the quarter line and a continued commitment to accountability

Meeting boaters where they are: Working Together

The Shepherds Boat Show hosted at Windermere Marina Village provided the perfect opportunity for us to talk all things Love Windermere in April. It was an opportunity to connect face to face with boaters, anglers and water enthusiasts who share a deep love for Windermere and the surrounding area.
