Supporting Mothers in Ways that Work

Supporting Mothers in Ways that Work is a resource toolkit for service providers working with mothers living with HIV. It is a culmination of conversations over many years with women living with HIV, researchers, clinicians, nurses, social workers, HIV support workers and other community-based service providers who are committee to addressing issues of social justice and care for mothers living with HIV. 

 

PAN Supporting Peer Evaluators

The Positive Leadership Development Institute (PLDI), a three-module leadership training program led by and for people living with HIV, has delivered 20 sessions of leadership training to over 167 participants in BC since 2009, when PAN’s partnership with the Ontario AIDS Network was established. The purpose of this highly-valued series of three- and four-day training programs is to support people living with HIV/AIDS to realize their leadership potential and meaningful participation in community life. 

 

A Smart Age with HIV Webinar

January 13, AIRN will be hosting A Smart Age with HIV: Clinical care of an ageing population with HIV, a webinar by Dr. Giovanni Guaraldi from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. Those in Halifax are welcome to join in person but space is limited so please register soon!

New Backgrounders in Nova Scotia 

Near the end of 2016, an excellent set of 2-page Backgrounders developed by the Nova Scotia Advisory Commission on AIDS with the assistance and expertise of San Patten (San Patten and Associates) was released on five inter-related strategic areas.

Missed Opportunities for Diagnosis of HIV 

The goal of this epidemiological study  is to explore the health care seeking patterns of new HIV positive patients and to understand whether there have been missed opportunities for earlier diagnosis and linkage to care.

Program Science Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

There is a call for abstracts for the next One-day Program Science Meeting which will take place July 9, 2017 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This year’s focus will be on the ‘Intervention Mix’.

Deadline is February 20, 2017.
