Opening Worship - Synod of WA
The 48th Annual Meeting of the Uniting Church Synod of WA takes place over the weekend of 13 to 15 September 2024.
All are welcome to attend the Opening Worship service on Friday 13 September starting at 7.00pm. The service will be held at Mount Pleasant Uniting Church, 1 Coomoora Rd, Mount Pleasant.
Details of a livestream option will be made available on the event page closer to the time.
International Youth Day 2024
Rev Charissa Suli, President of the Uniting Church in Australia, has offered a prayer for the UN celebration of International Youth Day, 12 August, which spotlights youth issues each year.
"May we all work together to weave Christ's love across cultures and boundaries, creating a tapestry of hope for present and future generations to come"
The theme for 2024 is 'From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development'; a celebration of the ways in which young people are leading the charge on new technologies, digital trends and innovation globally.

Uniting WA - The Path Home
Homelessness is a wicked problem, but it’s not impossible to solve.
Go beyond the headlines at Uniting WA's new photographic exhibition 'The Path Home' and discover the diverse paths people take on their journey towards home.
Featuring the work of acclaimed photographer Jarrad Seng and brought to you by Uniting WA. ‘The Path Home’ shares stories from seven West Australians at different stages on their journey out of homelessness.
This free exhibition runs from 26 August to 13 September at QV1 Perth.
- Medical staff share realities from the field in Gaza (WCC) - The war in Gaza continues, with the number of lives lost growing by the day and with an immanent risk of further escalation of war and conflict across the region. On 7 August, a delegation from the World Council of Churches (WCC) accompanied by partners from the Middle East Council of Churches, ACT Alliance, and Caritas Internationalis, heard the witness of some of those for whom this war has become a daily reality.
- Words of friendship from the Presbyterian Church of Korea (UCA) - Leaders of the Presbyterian Church of Korea share greetings in this short video and present President Rev Charissa Suli with a plaque of appreciation
- The new edition of With Love to the World is out now (UCA) - For the first time, the resource will include commentaries on Narrative Lectionary readings
- Bridging generations with compassion (Frontier Services) - Bush Chaplain Jill Doolan’s work in Central Australia exemplifies the power of compassion and community. Fluent in three Indigenous languages and deeply connected to her community, Jill dedicates herself to supporting people through diverse challenges and bridging generations with her care.
- Good Sammy Open Day for Uniting Church WA - The Uniting Church WA community are invited to an Open Day at the Good Sammy Enterprises Canning Vale facility on Thursday 22 August from 10.00am to 12.00pm. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the work of Good Sammy, an agency of the Uniting Church. RSVP to Tina Cazzolli at events@goodsammy.com.au
Variety Concert - Willetton Uniting Church are having a Variety Concert on 25 August. Vocal Items include “Memory” (from “Cats”), “Panis Angelicus”, “You Raise Me Up” and the Malotte arrangement of “The Lord’s Prayer”. Don’t miss this wonderful, varied programme which has many instrumental works you will recognise. The concert starts at 10.45am following the morning service at 9.15am. All welcome.
