Note from the R.E.
As many of you know, this past weekend was a tragic one for anyone involved in our racing community. We lost a competitor at an ARA Rally on Saturday, and two Autocrossers on Sunday in Packwood, Washington.
While I didn’t personally know any of the competitors who passed away, the tragedy still hits hard. I’ve read so many kind words from people all over the racing community about those that were lost, and it goes to show that we are a family. It’s nice to see us rally around each other with support and grace in times of hardship.
I know sometimes we as organizers can seem to have too many rules or things we do that deters from the fun you all get to have - but given that there is an inherent danger in what we do - accidents and medical emergencies happen. I never want to have to go through what so many people did this past weekend.
Give your people [and animals] hugs, tell everyone you love them, and be safe!

SAVE THE DATE! SCCA FAMILY FRIENDLY SCAVENGER HUNT on OCT 22nd!
A fun Susquehanna SCCA-sponsored scavenger hunt style Road Rally (think Lemons Rally…) will be held in the south-central PA region on October 22nd. There will be friends, food, fun, and of course shenanigans! Come in the morning for a Cars & Coffee event at Big Hill Ciderworks Taphouse (Gardners, PA) and meet the other competitors as well. Road Rally participants will then leave straight from the Cars and Coffee and compete in the Road Rally until mid-afternoon, when they return to Big Hill Ciderworks for a food truck, drinks, and awards! Award categories include: Most points, Most roadside attractions found, Most unnecessary horsepower, and Best team theme.
More information will be released in the coming months.
IMPORTANT UPDATE for the Autocross 8/12 Event & a NEW VENUE!!
For everyone signed up, and anyone who was interested but couldn’t make the 12th work - we have news! We’re canceling the 8/12 event and REPLACING it with a single event the following Sunday - 8/20. The crazy part - it’s at a NEW VENUE for the region!!!
While I wanted to announce this days ago, I still don’t have the finalized contract back, so until then, I’m going to keep things short. I’ll be sending an email out to everyone who registered already for the events on the 12th. As soon as registration is open for the new event/venue - I’ll let everyone know as well.
Stay tuned - as soon as things are signed and ready - you’ll be the first to know!
Volunteers Needed: Corvettes at Carlisle

Ciocca Corvette is giving us space in their tent at Corvettes at Carlisle, Aug 24, 25 & 26 7AM to 6PM. The Ciocca Corvette tent is space #1 right next to the GM tent.
There will be over 30,000 Corvette enthusiasts. That's 30,000 Sports Car enthusiasts. In my two years in the Corvette world, at the most I think only 10% knew what the SCCA is and few a clue of what we do. That means 27,000 are potential new members!
I'm looking for volunteers to work a shift at Corvettes at Carlisle. There will be two shifts a day, 7 or 8 to noon, noon to 6PM.
I can offer free entry to the event, a really cool t-shirt, a free AutoX pass for SJR, Philly and NNJ events, a discount to a Track Night in America.

We're in need of 2-3 people to help us out for a couple of hours for a review of some of the region documents. We'd like to find people who actually enjoy doing math (other than just me it seems) and/or have some accounting background.

We’re going to continue rotating venues in 2023! Keep your eyes peeled each month to make sure you know where we’ll be meeting!
This month’s meeting will be held at Cassell’s Grille, 5 W Pine Street, Mt Holly Springs, PA 17065. All members are encouraged to attend. Come an hour early for dinner (and a drink) with other members. Please make sure to let the host know that you’re with the SCCA group so they seat us all together.

Register ASAP for '23 Time Trials Nats
JUL 12, 2023 — No matter how super slick you are behind the wheel at SCCA Time Trials events, you’ve got to first show your speed at a computer or smartphone starting at 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday, July 12, because that’s when online registration opens for the 2023 Tire Rack SCCA® Time Trials Nationals Powered by Hagerty (TTN) taking place Oct. 12-15 in Bowling Green, KY, at NCM Motorsports Park.
The entry fee is $550 per driver, with a cap of 225 entries, so the price is right and the space is super limited.
