JOTTINGS OF
A PERSONAL JEWELLERSEPTEMBER 2025 NEWSLETTER
Hello! Welcome to my September newsletter. The busy-ness continues with a month of dealing, advising and working on people's jewels. Amongst the many interesting pieces, I was asked to supply no less than three “Westie” pendants for three different clients. So following on from this I can now offer them with Emerald, Sapphire or Ruby set collars. Please do contact me if you're interested.

More jewels talked about in last month’s early morning interview with Trevor Chappell! The chosen subject was rings—eternity rings, anniversary rings, claddagh rings, betrothal rings, puzzle rings and so on. While listeners also asked about Argyle Diamonds, green gold and Australian Sapphires and many other jewellery related subjects.
The Spring Fashion Parade & High Tea on Friday 12th September is fast approaching. There are still six tickets remaining on the three tables I have booked so if you want to attend please book before they go! Once gone, they’re gone!
"The Brooch Is Back" Talk
This month’s talk is “The Brooch is Back!” A beautifully illustrated history of this most underrated jewel that is definitely having a comeback! Book your tickets for the 18th of September event here. Doors open at 10.00am and the talk starts at 10.30am.
While talking of brooches why not have a look at these three new additions to my ever-changing collection...
A vintage 18 carat yellow and Dioptase mineral specimen brooch by John Donald. Circa 1962.
An 18 carat yellow gold, green Sapphire and enamel "platypus" brooch/pendant by Tony Williams.
A vintage 18 carat yellow and white gold mounted Emerald (8) and Diamond (8) set circle brooch.
Taylor Swift's Engagement
Finally, I read that Taylor Swift is engaged and wow what a ring! Not that the actual details have been published at the time of writing this newsletter—rumour has it that it is an oblong, elongated cushion cut Diamond of around 8-10 carats, and according to industry sources could be worth anywhere between $500,000 – $3 million USD! So if you like the sound of it but only have a budget of say just under $10,000 AUD, why not consider this scissors cut natural white Zircon of a similar style and look!
Wishing you all a happy September.
Warmly,
