News - Joint Submission on the Voice to Parliament - The Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC), Uniting Church in Australia and UnitingCare Australia have expressed their strong support for the proposed Constitutional Alteration (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice) Bill 2023. In a joint
submission to the Inquiry, the three organisations express support for the proposed constitutional changes to recognise a First Nations Voice as the first step to the full implementation of the Uluru Statement from the Heart, which encompasses Voice, Treaty and Truth.
- Engage Together are weekly resources for Intergenerational Worship in the Year A - written collaboratively across three different Synods, the free weekly resources provide a helpful starting point for those willing to be stretched – but not too far – toward worship that is more multi-sensory, multi-intelligence and multi-ability aware.
- Listening to First Nations Insights - At the recent UAICC National Conference, three Congress members presented on what it means to be a First Nations Christian today, reflecting on their faith in Jesus and their deep spiritual connections to Country and creation. With their permission, the Uniting Church in Australia have shared videos of these reflections as part of National Reconciliation Week reflections.
- Celebrate Refugee Week 2023 with CARAD. Refugee Week will be held from 18 to 24 June with the theme 'Finding Freedom'. CARAD, the Centre for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees, is supporting several events throughout the week. Go to their Facebook event page for details.
- Frontier Services are seeking skilled volunteers to help in rebuilding the roof of a damaged house in Kalbarri for a Vietnam War Veteran. His house was damaged in Cyclone Seroja in 2021.
