While the obvious destinations are on the coast the real beauty is in the hills. Our special places are St Paul de Vence and nearby Vence - both only 20 minutes from Nice airport and ideally located for exploring the whole of the Cote d Azur from St Tropez to Menton. Our choice is to hire a car at Nice airport so that we can travel around but there is an excellent bus and train service. Head for the hills and you will be in for a special surpriseOur selection for a special Autumn Break For even more holiday ideas visit St Paul de Vence You special trip needs to start around the wonderful village of St Paul and wander the pretty cobbled streets that are full of artist studios and small shops. Also and only a short drive to pretty village of Mougin then onto Cannes MentonMenton is our favorite coastal location - close to the Italian border with its own micro climate and fabulous bay views. Our special treat is to just wander through the old town then have lunch on any of the many restaurants overlooking the bay. Great place for a short break or a base for venturing onto the Italian Riviera. Love Menton Cannes Cannes is of course famously know for the festivals and fashion shops but there is much more to see away from the Crossette to the old town area of Le Suquet Le Suquet, the historic district of Cannes, is renowned for its narrow, cobblestone streets and picturesque buildings that reflect the town's rich history.
