Highly successful academic visit to Uganda - 19-29/8/2025

Between 19 and 29 August, the Africa Platform organized a high-level academic mission to Uganda. The delegation comprised fifteen colleagues from Ghent University, HoGent University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and Howest University of Applied Sciences, and was led by Ghent University’s Vice-Rector, Professor Mieke Van Herreweghe.

In the course of these days, high-level meetings were held at five universities. Visits were also conducted to several research institutes and to the EU Delegation in Kampala. These engagements resulted in the formulation of concrete plans for student exchanges, project applications, and collaborative doctoral programmes

Engaging in collaboration with a multi-institutional delegation was regarded as highly valuable, and therefore, similar initiatives may be pursued in the future.
