Click here ![]() Meeting of the Special Synod and Apology to CongressOn Saturday 22 March 2025 a special meeting of the Synod of Western Australia was held to discuss matters relating to the Beananging Kwuurt Institute (BKI). Reports were received by the Moderator, Rev Dr Ian Tozer, by the Synod Standing Committee, the Nominating Committee, and the BKI Board. The meeting concluded with the Moderator offering an Apology to Congress which is available to read in full on our website (link below). "We commit to the Covenant we have made, and we pray that, through the grace of God, even as we stumble or make wrong turns, we will come back together and journey alongside each other as First and Second Peoples." Prayers for Myanmar Following EarthquakeRev Charissa Suli, President of the Uniting Church in Australia, has shared a pastoral message and prayer with the Church following a magnitude 7.7 earthquake impacted central Myanmar on Friday 28 March. “As President of the Uniting Church in Australia, I want to affirm our commitment to our partners in the region. We are a proud member of the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA), a fellowship of churches and councils across Asia committed to justice, peace, and unity in Christ. Through the CCA, we are connected to this shared body of Christ, and when one part suffers, we all feel the pain. When one-part cries out, we are called to respond with prayer, presence, and practical support.” Assembly responds to 2025 BudgetThe Uniting Church in Australia welcomes measures in the 2025 federal budget to ease cost-of-living pressures for Australians, but is concerned at the lack of supports for the most vulnerable in our society. “As a Church, we believe that a just economy serves the common good of all Australians while prioritising those in greatest need,” said Rev Charissa Suli, President of the Uniting Church in Australia.

Read Article Assembly Standing Committee meets for first time in 2025 (UCA)On the weekend of 14-16 March the Assembly Standing Committee (ASC) met together at Mary MacKillop Place in North Sydney. The ASC is the governance body for the National Assembly. Elected at each Assembly meeting, the ASC is in place for a triennium and meets every three months to give oversight of the life, ministry and mission of the Assembly. Read Article
