Intercultural NetworkThe Uniting Church Presbytery of WA agreed to re-name the ‘Multicultural and Cross Cultural Network’ to the ‘Intercultural Network’. This aligns with the following UCA Assembly statement:
“An Intercultural church is a church that accepts, supports and celebrates each cultural group. It intentionally encourages all cultural groups to engage in intercultural relationships and share in leadership, mission and ministry.” The Intercultural Network will meet on 7 September 2024 at 9.30am, at Applecross, St Stephen’s Uniting Church, 2 Mackenzie Road, Applecross.
More Than a Roof - Uniting WAAs Uniting WA's The Path Home photographic exhibition begins today, running until 9 September, we share the story of Bernie who has found a home, and a support system, through the Independent Living Program offered by Uniting WA. 'More than a roof' was originally published in our August 2024 edition of Revive magazine.
Quiz Night a great success! On Saturday 17 August, the International Partnerships and Development Commission (IPDC) ran it’s first Quiz Night to raise money for the Black Pearl Network projects in the Papuan provinces of Indonesia. The quiz night was a great success, and a great opportunity for our Uniting Church community to get together for a fun social event.

- Season of Creation Assembly Resource (UCA) - The Season of Creation takes place from 1 September to 4 October under the 2024 international theme, ‘Hope and act with creation'. The UCA Assembly has released two versions of a worship resource for Season of Creation: one if you are worshipping indoors and one to help you take your worship outdoors. They are available for download here along with other links to resources.
- Religious Discrimination Laws Shelved (UCA) - The Uniting Church in Australia responds to the Federal Government's indication that it will not pursue religious discrimination reform.
- Juniper brings fresh food market to
residential aged care homes (Juniper) - Juniper has launched a fresh produce market stall in a residential aged care home, setting a new standard for aged care nutrition. This initiative is part of Juniper’s broader Dignity In Nutritional Excellence (DINE) program, which focuses on providing high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to the individual needs of its customers.
- Faiths for Climate Justice (ARRCC WA) - A national week of action promoting increased community, business and government action to transition out of fossil fuels will be held 14 to 24
September. Local churches are encouraged to get involved through local actions, including displaying public banners calling for urgent action towards renewable energy. The Perth Launch of Faiths for Climate Justice will be on Tuesday 17 September at 9.30am - outside St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, Perth. - Charity Gala Concert - featuring the Perth Male Voice Choir and Circle of Friends Ladies Choir, Sunday 27 October, 3.00pm at St Stephen's School Theatre, Duncraig. This wonderful afternoon of music and song is organised by Northway Uniting Church Caring Hands in conjunction with Joondalup CWA to raise funds for Grandcarers WA (Grandparents Raising Grandchildren).
