TIMOTHY JACOB JENSEN: JURY MEMBER OF THE IF DESIGN AWARD 2019

We are proud and honoured to announce that Timothy Jacob Jensen, CEO and Chief Designer at Jacob Jensen Design has been invited to join the jury of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2019 for the Product category. Through more than 65 years, the iF DESIGN AWARD has firmly established itself as one of the most important design awards worldwide. Timothy will be part of a team of over 70 experts from at least 20 different countries across the world.

Together with our client, COTTO, Southeast Asia’s leading innovator of sanitary ware, we are proud to present the SKIVE Collection: a unique bathroom experience. The bathroom series, consisting of a washbasin, a faucet, a toilet and a shower panel, is a combination of cutting-edge production technology and clean, aesthetic Scandinavian design where user-oriented functionalities, ultra-modern forms and natural materials meet. The SKIVE Collection was launched during the ARCHITECT EXPO ‘18 in Bangkok in May.

WELCOME TO NEW INVESTOR

Jacob Jensen Design A/S have welcomed Jobindex founder and IT billionaire Kaare Danielsen into the group of owners. Kaare Danielsen sees vast unexploited potential for the Jacob Jensen group and predicts an international breakthrough. He regards his investment as an opportunity to contribute with his digital know-how to create new, user-oriented designs under the Jacob Jensen Design brand.

IF GOLD AWARD: XPOWER VISION

We are glad to share that we and our client XPOWER have been honoured with the prestigious iF Gold award 2018 for the Vision modular power track designed by Jacob Jensen.

The gold statement was: »This flexible power supply strip contributes to solving the question of how to get electricity to where you need it in the office or home. High-quality materials and nearly invisible joints mark this product. An ideal cable management system allows short cable lengths.«

The iF award ceremony took place at the BMW Welt in Munich, Germany, where COO at XPOWER Frank Wu and Chief designer and CEO at Jacob Jensen Design Timothy Jacob Jensen personally received the golden iF award.

JACOB JENSEN DESIGN INVESTIGATES UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIP IN MEXICO

We have already realised our vision of establishing Jacob Jensen Design studios in collaboration with university partners in China as well as in Thailand, where we, through an educational programme, offer design students a unique opportunity to gain real work experience in an international environment, to obtain credit rights to their work and to become part of a royalty sharing programme.

In April, Timothy Jacob Jensen visited Mexico City to explore the possibilities of opening a new design studio in cooperation with a Mexican university partner. The visit was arranged and coordinated by the Embassy of Denmark in Mexico.

PANEL DISCUSSION HOSTED BY DANISH AND DUTCH CONSULATES

Timothy Jacob Jensen and Manuel Veiga Aldemira, COO at Jacob Jensen Design, attended a panel discussion hosted by the Royal Danish Consulate General and the Consulate-general of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Shanghai.

Timothy shared his insights on value-driven design under the topic "How to design for China?" while Manuel participated as a panellist discussing the topic "IPR issues and cultural challenges”.

THAI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE VISITS BANGKOK STUDIO

In Spring, Jacob Jensen Design | KMUTT Bangkok had the pleasure of welcoming 100 visitors from the Thai Chamber of Commerce, including Chairman Mr. Kalin Sarasin. The Thai Chamber of Commerce visited King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi’s Knowledge Exchange Center (KX), which offers an environment for students, private sector and entrepreneurs that facilitates knowledge flow and stimulates the generation of ideas and innovation.

INTA DESIGN CONFERENCE

The International Trademark Association, INTA, hosted the design conference “The Power of Design”, in London on 26-27 February, 2018.
The conference focused on the protection of design rights, and Timothy Jacob Jensen had the pleasure of being one of the keynote speakers at the conference. With his speech “How designs shape our world”, he contributed to the discussion with the claim that design protection is not only about laws and lawyers but about the morals and ethics of every individual as well: You don’t lie and you don’t steal. 250 members of INTA attended the design conference.

DESIGN SHANGHAI 2018

On March 14-17, Jacob Jensen Design participated in Design Shanghai 2018, one of the world's most prestigious international design events and Asia's premier design event.

During the design week, Jacob Jensen Design hosted the pre-launch of the iF Gold Award-winning XPOWER Vision. Timothy Jacob Jensen attended along with XPOWER COO Frank Wu and Executive Director of DeTao Masters Academy Lansi Jiang.

THAI BRANCH

Jacob Jensen Design is operating out of Thailand providing total design and branding solutions for clients in collaboration with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT).

Recently, Jacob Jensen Design have established a Thai legal entity, and we look forward to further unfold our positive business development in the Southeast Asian region.

SAAN CONFERENCE

Sébastien Maleville, Studio Creative Director at Jacob Jensen Design I KMUTT Bangkok, and Manuel Veiga Aldemira were invited by KMUTT to attend the SAAN Conference, an international conference on design, innovation, and creativity. Sébastien and Manuel were both panellists in the discussion “Creating value through design in a Thai Context” held at KMUTT’s KX building in February.
