Nepal Emergency Appeal

Nepal Emergency Appeal and Prayer

In response to the devastating flash floods in Nepal, we pause in sorrow and solidarity with all who have been affected.

Uniting Church in Australia President Rev Charissa Suli, has offered a pastoral prayer for those who grieve, those still waiting for news, and all who are working to bring rescue, care and hope.

UnitingWorld have set up a Nepal Emergency Appeal to assist with immediate aid and long-term support for people affected. Donations will be directed to the work of United Mission to Nepal (UNM) who are working on the ground as the local partner of Baptist World Aid.

Frontier Services Sunday

Celebrating Frontier Services Sunday

Frontier Services Sunday was an opportunity for churches to honour the legacy of Rev John Flynn and to learn more about this vital national agency of the Uniting Church, providing ministry and support to people in the bush.

On 30 August, the Kalamunda and St Martin's Foothills Uniting Church congregations came together for a combined worship service and fundraising Outback BBQ, giving thanks for the ministry of Frontier Services.

Our Moderator Rev David Jackson was invited to attend, sharing the sermon and leading communion. With his previous roles as Frontier Services Bush Chaplain in the Mid West and the Pilbara, he was able to share with the congregation from his personal experiences, and experiences of other bush chaplains he has worked alongside.

This year’s Season of Creation is centred on the theme ‘Living Water’, inspired by Ezekiel 47:9 and 12. In the prophet’s vision, a river flows from God’s sanctuary, bringing healing, restoration and new life wherever it goes.
