Hagerty Motorsports: Projects That Look Simple, But Aren'tFEB 6, 2023 — Knee deep in parts in the garage, scratching your head as to how the project got so out of control – we’ve all been there. After all, it looked so simple on internet blogs. But lo and behold, that YouTube video didn’t illustrate every necessary step, and now you’re in a bit of a quandary. It’s an easy trap to fall into, and it’s something
Hagerty Motorsports’s Kyle Smith recently wrote about on Hagerty.com/media.
Hawk Soars for Novices at Track Night in America in 2023FEB 3, 2023 — One of SCCA’s most accessible activities, and one of its most popular, Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack (TNiA) recently announced its 2023 schedule. From seasoned enthusiasts looking for extra seat time, to those with absolutely no previous on-track
experience, TNiA has proven to be an outrageously fantastic place for everyone to have #funwithcars. At each event, participants classify themselves into one of three groups depending on previous experience. That keeps on-track excitement rolling for everyone and allows people to comfortably explore performance driving within a camp of friends sharing similar skills. But no matter the group – Advanced, Intermediate, or Novice – everyone revels in the party, and shares a wonderful time.
Bravo Trailers Becomes the Exclusive Trailer Partner of SCCAFEB 10, 2023 — If there’s one truth in motorsports, it’s that a trailer will eventually find its way onto your driveway. Be it cars or equipment, the need to transport items safely and efficiently to events is of top concern. With a plethora of equipment required to traverse the country in support of the Hoosier Racing Tire Super Tour, the Sports Car Club of America is no different, which is why the SCCA is proud to announce that it has partnered with Bravo Trailers, with Bravo Trailers
becoming the Exclusive Trailer Partner of the SCCA.
SCCA RallyCross: Playpen for Automotive ManufacturersFEB 14, 2023 — It’s certainly not uncommon for a corporation to have an employee bowling or softball team. A company with an SCCA RallyCross squad, however, is much rarer. Yet, that is what General Motors has established within its GM Off Road Driving Team (ORDT). Kevan Bates, a 35-year-old engine calibration engineer, is ORDT’s Vehicle Lead. An SCCA member for a decade, Bates oversees
the RallyCross program within ORDT, which is comprised of more than 300 people – and far outnumbers any softball or bowling social group. That team plays around with all things off road, but around 25 members are focused on SCCA RallyCross competition.
