No Quarry for Beveridge/Wallan

THE PROPOSED QUARRY IS NOT A DONE DEAL

A united community voice is crucial in the fight to stop the proposed quarry at 175 Northern Highway, Wallan.

The campaign to stop the proposed quarry has been long and is not over yet. We continue working with our community to say NO QUARRY for Beveridge and Wallan. Let’s keep up the fight together

Here are some ways you can join the campaign to make your voice heard:

1. Write to the Minister to express your concerns with the plans for a quarry and processes around the Beveridge Northwest Precinct Structure Plan.

2. Contact your local MPs and tell them you don’t want the proposed quarry.

3. Pick up a free NO QUARRY for Beveridge/Wallan front yard sign from our Customer Service Centre in Wallan or the Greater Beveridge Community Centre.

4. Share your concerns on social media and use the hashtag #noquarryforbeveridgewallan

Have your say on the Engaging Mitchell website

We have a few consultations open at the moment, and we would like to hear your views and ideas. We're currently seeking input on:

2022 Business Survey: We recently extended our 2022 Business Survey, which means you have more time to have your say about the future of business in Mitchell. Survey closes Wednesday 14 September at 9am.

Seymour Playground Improvements: Upgrades are planned for Graham Reserve, Heywood Hill Reserve and Generation Park and Council wants to hear from locals who use the play spaces. Submissions close Monday 26 September.

Anzac Avenue Masterplan: Mitchell Shire Council is developing a masterplan to improve the Anzac Avenue streetscape from the railway underpass to Delatite Road. Submissions close Friday 30 September.

Street renaming proposal - part of Ferguson Street, Broadford: We're proposing to rename part of Ferguson Street in Broadford on the western side of the railway line between Hamilton Street and Murchison Street. Submissions close Monday 3 October at 9am.

Community Satisfaction Survey: Over the next few weeks, community members may receive calls from National Field Services on behalf of Council. Calls will only come from a fixed line number, not a mobile phone and the caller will always identify themselves and who they are working for.

You can find out more and have your say on our Engaging Mitchell consultation website.
