The Inaugural meeting of the Uniting Church, Synod of Western Australia was held from 7 to 10 October 1977. This year will be our 50th Synod! From 11 to 13 September this year the Synod of Western Australia are meeting for our 50th Synod. To mark this milestone in the life of the Uniting Church in WA, we are gathering photos, items and stories from our first (1977), 10th (1986) and 25th (2001) Synod meetings. If you or a family member were at the Inaugural Synod in 1977, either as a member or visitor, and

WA Has No Place for Poverty
All are welcome to attend the next Social Justice Hive event hosted by the Uniting Church WA Social Justice Commission. The next Social Justice Hive on 8 August takes place during homelessness week (3 - 9 August). The focus topic will be 'WA has no place for poverty' - a conversation about homelessness, housing insecurity and the cost of living crisis. Date: Saturday 8 August 2026

The Assembly Standing Committee met in Sydney from 17–19 July, bringing together members from across the country to guide the national work of the Uniting Church and continue implementing the priorities adopted by the 17th Assembly. Read More

Nominations for Membership of the 18th Assembly
The 18th Triennial Assembly of the Uniting Church in Australia will gather in Adelaide from 8 to 13 July 2027. During the upcoming Synod meeting members from Uniting Church WA will be elected to the18th Assembly. Nomination forms, to be completed and submitted by 7 September, are now available to download from the website. For more information, and to prayerfully discern if you feel called to nominate to be a member of the 18th Assembly please read the letter from David Beards, General Secretary.

Wesley at One: St Stephen's School Year 12 Musicians
Uniting Church in the City invite you to a free Wesley at One recital featuring beautiful music from the St Stephen's School Year 12 musicians. The recital commences at 1.00pm on Friday 7 August at Wesley Uniting Church, on the corner of William and Hay Street, Perth. Bring along your lunch and enjoy some beautiful music in a peaceful sanctuary.
Morning Market
On Saturday 1 August, there will be a Morning Market at St Peter & Emmaus Church, 56 Green St, Joondanna from 8.00am until 11.00am. Enjoy devonshire teas, jams & relishes, books, bric a brac & plants. Proceeds to the ACCESS HOPE Orphanage in Kenya.
Kalamunda Market Day
Kalamunda Uniting Church welcomes you and your friends to next market day on Saturday 1 August from 9.00am to 12.00pm coinciding with Kalamunda Market Day. There will be delicious scones, cake and sandwiches to tempt you with your morning tea or coffee . Browse our book tables in the hall and the crafts, jams and cakes, plants and bric-a-brac in the foyer.

Expression of Interest - Pilbara Patrol Bush Chaplain
Expressions of interest are invited from Ministers of the Word, Deacons, Pastors or people willing to Pastors, to fill this vacant placement within the Synod of Western Australia. The Pilbara Patrol Bush Chaplaincy is an outreach of the Uniting Church in the north of Western Australia, funded by Frontier Services. The aim of the role is to offer emotional, physical and spiritual care and support to people living in this this remote area.
