FEDERAL GRANTS

 

Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator (AHBA)

Amount: Undisclosed
Closing Date: 10 September 2024
Purpose: Housing Australia provides low-cost finance to registered community housing providers (CHPs) for social and affordable housing projects via the AHBA.  To apply for an AHBA loan, applicants must:

  • Be a Community Housing Provider (CHP) registered under a law of, or under a scheme administered by, a State or a Territory
  • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Have an Australian bank account
  • Legally constituted and do you exist at the date of lodging this form

What can AHBA be used for?

  • Acquiring new housing
  • Constructing new housing
  • Maintaining existing housing
  • Assisting with working capital requirements and/or general corporate requirements
  • Refinancing existing debts

Artists’ Benevolent Fund

Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: Ongoing
Purpose: To provide immediate assistance following a disaster or catastrophic event in their lives. Pending the capacity of the fund, the panel may consider larger amounts as appropriate to the need of the beneficiary.

Arts Projects for Individuals and Groups

Amount: $10,000 - $50,000

Purpose: This program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences and communities.

Australia-India Strategic and Technology Policy Initiative (SATPI): Grant Round 1

Amount: $1.25 million 
Closing Date: 29 September 2024
Purpose: To advance the Australia-India relationship in the areas critical to our shared future. SATPI will deepen our shared understanding of, and engagement with, the strategic and technology policy issues facing our region through research and collaboration, particularly in the Indo-Pacific.

Bob Hawke Landcare Award

Amount: $30,000
Closing Date: 31 December 2024
Purpose: The Bob Hawke Landcare Award is a prestigious national award that publicly recognises an individual, group or organisation that has been involved in championing landcare and inspiring others to take action on their property or in their community.

Growing Regions Program Round 2

Amount: $393 million total funding
Closing Date: 10 October 2024
Purpose: To Construct or upgrade community infrastructure that fills an identified and immediate gap or unmet need for community infrastructure, particularly for communities that have experienced substantial growth. Contributing to achieving social outcomes and increased community cohesion, liveability and accessibility for regional and remote communities

Industry Growth Program

Amount:  $50,000 - $5 million
Closing Date: Undisclosed
Purpose: Supporting innovative small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups to commercialise their ideas and grow their businesses. There are two matched funding grant opportunities:

  • $50,000 - $250,000 to support early-stage commercialisation projects
  • $100,000 - $5 million for commercialisation and growth projects.

International Travel Fund 

Amount: $5,000 - $50,000
Closing Date: 17 September 2024
Purpose: Supports travel costs associated with Australian artists and creative workers including groups and organisations attending market development and cultural exchange platforms or key gatherings overseas.

Local Sporting Champion Grant

Amount: $500 - $700
Closing Date: 31 October 2024
Purpose: Supports Shortland’s young athletes to realise their sporting dreams and compete in their sporting competitions. Local junior athletes turning 12 to 18 years of age in the same calendar year as the nominated sporting championship can apply for a grant to cover the cost of:

  • Travel
  • Accommodation
  • Uniforms
  • Equipment

Long Tan Bursary

Amount: $12,000
Closing Date: Ongoing
Purpose: The Long Tan Bursary helps eligible children and grandchildren of Vietnam veterans pay for their tertiary education. Each year 37 bursaries are awarded to successful applicants across Australia. Each bursary is worth up to $12,000 over 3 years of continuous full-time study.

Marking First World War Private Graves Grants Program

Amount: $620 per grave 
Closing Date: 5 November 2024
Purpose: To assist with the purchase of a grave marker for unmarked private graves of veterans of the First World War.  You can seek funding for up to 10 grave markers in each individual application.

National Justice Reinvestment Program

Amount: $20 million
Closing Date: 10 September 2024
Purpose: The National Justice Reinvestment Program is a long-term, community-led approach to shifting people’s interactions away from the justice system by investing in preventative and rehabilitation measures, informed by local stories, evidence and data.

On Farm Connectivity Program

Amount: $3,000 - $30,000

Purpose: To assist primary producers to take advantage of digital agribusiness solutions to boost productivity, improve safety and drive more sustainable farming practices.

Regional Arts Touring Fund

Amount: $60,000 - $120,000
Closing Date: 9 September 2024
Purpose: This program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences and communities. From First Nations NSW arts and culture, to performing arts, visual arts, literature, history and museums, to digital and immersive arts – are eligible for both small and large tour funding.

Research Partnership Grant

Amount: $5 million
Closing Date: 23 September 2024
Purpose: As part of Working for Women: A Strategy for Gender Equality, the Australian Government is offering a Research Partnership Grant to build the evidence base on what works to achieve gender equality, especially in relation to driving women’s economic equality.

Social Enterprise Capability Building Grants Program

Amount: $120,000 
Closing Date: June 2026
Purpose: Provides funding to social enterprises to help them become more efficient and effective in delivering social benefits to vulnerable Australians.

Strengthening Social Cohesion Grants

Amount: $12.25 million 
Closing Date: Undisclosed
Purpose: To support Australian Palestinian, Muslim and other communities affected by the Hamas-Israel conflict. The first round of funding will provide $12.25 million for affected Palestinian, Muslim and other communities, including:  ​

  • $7 million for national programs addressing social cohesion impacts felt across communities in Australia;
  • $1.25 million to expand and enhance existing social cohesion projects; and
  • $4 million for community-led grass roots programs.

Urban Precincts & Partnerships Program (uPPP)

Amount: $500,000 - $5 million.
Closing Date: Ongoing
Purpose: To develop a precinct idea through to investment-ready stage in partnership with local stakeholders to benefit regional communities. State and Territory governments, local governments, regional universities, not-for-profit organisations, including indigenous organisations are eligible to apply.

Veterans’ Acute Housing Program

Amount: $30 million
Closing Date: 13 September 2024
Purpose: To provide funding to eligible organisations to improve housing outcomes for veterans and their families. The Program will provide up to $30 million in grant funding under 2 streams:

  • $24 million in capital works funding for projects to expand the availability of crisis and transitional housing under the Veterans’ Acute Housing Program – Capital Works Grant (Capital Works Grant); and
  • $6 million to fund organisations to deliver specialist support services that address the risk factors for homelessness under the Veterans’ Acute Housing Program – Specialist Services Grant (Specialist Services Grant).

Carers Investment Grant Program

Amount: $250,000 - $500,000

Purpose: To fund initiatives that develop, pilot and implement ongoing training and education programs for service providers to better identify and reach unidentified carers and provide them with information about how to get support.

Purpose: To assist community groups and registered charities across NSW develop small-scale, local projects to increase road safety awareness in local communities and promote safer behaviour on our roads.

Energy Consumer Australia

Purpose: To enable residential or small business consumer advocacy by participation in current or forthcoming government, regulatory, or industry decision-making processes, or for small, targeted research projects.

Purpose: Councils, community groups and other key stakeholders can apply for funding to help met the new NSW litter reduction targets.

Purpose: For local councils and not-for-profit organisations to run events and activities during the NSW Seniors Festival from 3 – 16 March. The Festival theme this year is Time to shine.

Purpose: Do you know the next NSW Woman of the Year? We're looking for the next ground-breaking thinkers, everyday heroes and social reformers. They're the innovative role models who challenge inequality and inspire us all. Help recognise and celebrate their achievements and contributions.

Regional Event Fund – Event Development 

Amount: $50,000

Purpose: To support events in regional NSW to grow visitation and increase economic benefits to destinations. The Event Development stream supports the strategic growth of proven events as drivers of tourism.

P&C Transition Grant 2024-25

Amount: $10,000

Purpose: To support approved OOSH services that have transitioned to P&C ownership as a result of the recent provider Category Review.

Tertiary Health Study Subsidies

Amount: $12,000 
Closing Date: When all subsidies are awarded
Purpose: Are you a student enrolled in a health care degree? You can now apply for up to $12,000 in subsidies to support you in your studies!

This initiative will create a future pipeline of health workers with up to 850 nursing students, 400 medical students and 150 midwifery students expected to enter the subsidy program each year.

Purpose:  To support the community to deliver activities which require a small amount of funding and/or in-kind support. This is a small grant program, open all year round and assessed monthly.

Purpose: To build communities inspired to take action for a sustainable future”. Our aim is to support projects and organisations that:

Purpose: Many students in Australia do not have the resources that they need to reach their academic potential. Harding Miller Scholarships are for girls at public high schools who are entering Year 9 in 2025.

Purpose: To benefit the lesbian community in general or one or more groups within the lesbian community.  Eligible projects can include:

  • Support groups or services
  • Advisory services
  • Sporting and recreational activities or functions
  • Production of information or resources for educational or promotional purposes

Narellan Splash Foundation

Purpose: The Splash Foundation offers a fibreglass swimming pool grant that covers the cost of installation, including all necessary council requirements, for an in-ground swimming pool for an Australian community group. This program aims to provide access to swimming facilities, encouraging physical activity, social interaction, and overall well-being.

Purpose:  The University of Newcastle is seeking new and innovative solutions that empower organisations to reduce and record scope 3 emissions. The successful team will receive funding to develop and test prototypes within a 6-month period.

Purpose: We encourage local community groups and organisations in the Lake Macquarie Local Government Area to consider making an application or get in touch to discuss their ideas.

  • $50,000 - Grants for community, environmental and economic development projects 
  • $100,000 - Partnerships that deliver long-term social, environmental or economic value to support the energy transition.
