Dear Valued CPF Supporters!
Contributing to CPF is a good idea; to help you, we've created a TOP 10 list of reasons to give to CPF this Giving Tuesday:
#10. You actually want Ontario children and youth to be bilingual.
Yes. Those of you who are parents have a deep commitment invested in your child(ren)'s language learning, schooling and ultimately their future. Educators, too, feel the same way about their "kids." It only makes sense.
#9. You agree that honouring Mary Joyce Booth is a noble purpose.
Your donations to the CPF’s Mary Joyce Booth Fund honours the memory of the amazing Dr. Mary Joyce Booth. Those who knew her witnessed a devoted and enthusiastic educator who contributed time, energy and love to teaching and supporting youth learning French for many years. (See 2-minute video below) Your donations to this fund keeps Dr. Booth's purpose, passion and impact alive!
#8. It's so Canadian.
Just like preparing for winter is essentially and predictably Canadian, so are our official languages. We have become used to seeing English and French together on food packaging, government sites and services, marketing materials and more. And because, as a country, we value bilingualism, it brings opportunities.
#7. You would like to support youth.
Dr. Booth's fund is dedicated solely to youth programming and opportunities in French, and is given to all branches across Canada to ensure programming in each province.
#6. You want kids to have fun when they learn!
#5. You would like to see your dollars doing something tangible like: scholarships and grants supporting students and education.
In the past, many branches have given scholarships or grants from the fund to support students continuing studies in French. Other branches have organized career fairs, day trips and workshops in local communities. Your contribution will have a tangible impact on youth across the country in their French-language learning journey.
#4. You love the fact that Canadian Parents for French believes in equitable access to French learning.
We believe that every child has the right and the ability to learn French.
#3. You respect the importance bilingualism plays in our country.
These languages connect us and our children with our diverse Canadian communities!
#2. You know and love that supporting learning an additional language boosts brain cognition in children. This is both amazing and true. Go ahead: GOOGLE IT! Ask ChatGPT for the research.
And now, the #1 reason why giving to CPF this Giving Tuesday is a good idea IS!!
#1. You know deep down how powerful words, language and connection are for our young people and our future. No matter the size of your gift, we are grateful for the importance and relevance it brings to our young people, our communities and our future. We thank you.
