Acumatica Streamlines Personalization and Advances Core Business Processes with 2021 R2 Launch

 
 

Acumatica 2021 R2 takes ERP configuration and customization a step further with personalization – adjusting Acumatica’s agile and robust software to each customer’s individual needs. With 2021 R2, customers can reduce time spent finding actions and reports through a consolidated toolbar, and automate complex business processes without programming. Users can also react to data changes by creating tasks from business events, and boost productivity by automating administrative tasks and triggering notifications when key activities occur. In addition, technical users now have access to the new DAC Schema Browser to easily view data tables and field mappings.

The 2021 R2 update includes integrations with Microsoft Teams and Adobe Document Cloud. With the Acumatica for Microsoft Teams integration, customers can access the communication and collaboration features of Teams from directly within Acumatica, without switching between platforms. Similarly, Acumatica customers can use the Adobe Document Cloud integration to annotate, highlight, comment on PDF documents, and save updated versions with an audit trail and version control – all without leaving Acumatica.

In 2021 R2, Acumatica delivers new features and enhancements to all its industry editions.

Acumatica Business Cloud Scheduled Maintenance on November 17th at 7AM and 10 AM UTC

 
 

The Acumatica SaaS team will be carrying out planned maintenance with the details below:

EXPECTED DURATION: We expect the maintenance window to end within 2.5 hours of the start time.

DETAILS: We must apply a set of Windows Server updates to preserve virtual machine security compliance with internal Acumatica IS standards.

IMPACT: Customer application(s) will be restarted and may not be available during the maintenance window. The maintenance will have no impact on the customer data and we do not expect the change to affect the customer in any way.

We do not anticipate any customer impact from this maintenance.

System maintenance sessions are very important and we make every effort to schedule our maintenance periods to have the lowest possible impact to our customers. We apologize for any inconvenience they may cause, and thank you for your understanding.

How do I initialize appraisals?

Initialization of appraisals allows users to create multiple appraisals for a group of employees, instead of having to create them one by one from Employee Profiles.

Click Performance > Initialize Appraisals

Note: You can do any combination by using the filters available.

1.       Use available filter options to select the employees you’d like to create appraisals for.

  • Specific Manager
    • Select a manager to filter through only their direct reports
  • Company
  • Organization
    •  Filter by the organization levels
  • Salary / Hourly Classification
    • Filter by whether the employee is salary or hourly
  • Next Performance Review Date
    •  Filter based on the next performance review
  • Exclude Employees with an Open Appraisal
    • Will exclude any employee with an open appraisal

2.       Once complete, click update results

 This will populate a list of employee’s who fit the filtered qualifications

3.       If the list is correct, select Next – Configure Appraisal Settings

4.       Once you click - Next – Configure Appraisal Settings – complete the following fields

  • Appraisal Type
    • Select the appraisal type you wish to create
  • Review Method
    • Based upon the appraisal type selected the system will default to the review method for that Appraisal Type.  However, you can override if desired.
  • HR Has Final Approval
    •  Check if you want HR to be the final approval for the appraisal
  • Overrides: 
    • Period Start & Period End
      •  Change the period start & end date
    • Due Date
      •  ​Change the due date
    • Assigned Templates
      • Allows you to assign specific templates.  In your set-up, you may have already assigned the templates based upon the Appraisal Type or through the template cross-reference.  This is only to override those assigned templates.

5.       Click Create Appraisals

6.       Confirm Creation

What is the function of reloading a timesheet?

Reloading a timesheet reloads the screen and reverts backs to the last saved version of the timesheet. This can be used if you have made modifications in a timesheet but decide you want to discard these and revert back to the last saved version.

LightWork People Management 

Is there a way to control the password complexity for users?

Yes! This can be controlled in the System Options maintenance under the Password tab.

Altec | DocLink Can Do What No ERP Can – Automate Document Delivery

 

Statistics show that the average office worker sends 40 emails per day. It doesn’t seem like much, since email has become a major communications tool in our daily business lives. But crafting just one email can be a time-consuming task. For example, consider the steps accounts receivable takes to send an invoice to a customer:

  1. Create/address the email
  2. Locate the invoice and attach
  3. Locate any additional documents that the customer requires be sent with the invoice and attach
  4. Send the email off

You might think, “What’s so hard about that?” Well, when you have to do this manually every time you send an invoice – whether your company sends tens or hundreds of invoices monthly – it can be quite labor-intensive.

You might retort, “Well AR can automate distributing invoices directly from their ERP system.” That’s true for most ERPs. But no ERP can automate invoice distribution AND include other documents with the invoice – they’re only able to automate distribution of one document at a time.
