SEMPHNSEMPHN appoints interim CEOBoard Chair Sue Renkin has confirmed that SEMPHN’s interim Chief Executive Officer is Mr Michael Beres. Michael has until recently worked for SEMPHN as acting Chief Operating Officer and will fill the CEO role until a permanent CEO is in place. Former CEO, Dr Elizabeth Deveny finished with SEMPHN on Friday 8 October, 2021. Elizabeth had been with the PHN since its inception and made a significant mark on not only the PHN industry but primary health care in its entirety. The Board is working with an executive search firm to recruit a permanent CEO. COVID-19 impacts on Alfred Health servicesAs part of Alfred Health’s COVID-19 response plan, from October, significant changes will be made to Specialist Clinic (Outpatient) services. All referrals received will be triaged; however, if the patient’s care needs are assessed as not requiring an appointment within the next three months, the referral may be declined. Where possible, care will be delivered via telehealth (phone or video consultation). For updates regarding referrals to Specialist Clinics, please access Alfred Health For GPs webpage. Should your patient’s care needs become urgent, please re-refer to the Specialist Clinic to request an appointment for an assessment. There has been a significant impact on Specialist Clinic (Outpatient) services and elective surgery. As a result, from 27 September, new referrals for Bariatric Surgery cannot be accepted.
