Mike Benton ’04 Lives Out His Calling as a Broadcaster for the Seattle KrakenIn the summer of 2021, Mike got a text that changed his life. After nearly two decades of broadcasting for minor league baseball and hockey teams, a colleague texted Mike to see if he was interested in becoming the in-game host for the Seattle Kraken, a National Hockey League (NHL) franchise which would celebrate their inaugural season that fall. Mike, who had dreamed of becoming a broadcaster for an NHL team since he was a kid, replied, “Absolutely!” Nicky Slavich ’14, MA ’18, Shares the Value of Human ConnectionNicky never thought he would work at Google as a recruiter. By forming meaningful connections, Nicky discovered his career calling. Throughout his journey, Nicky has learned that his identity stems from who God continues creating him to be. She is a two-time contestant on Wheel of Fortune, and has garnered a large following on Instagram by documenting her dental school journey, expressing her passion for creativity and science. Video Editor Jordan Orme ’19 Is Using His Platform to Share His FaithJordan experienced massive success quickly after graduating from APU, editing music videos for major artists and creating a YouTube channel which has garnered more than 110 million views and more than 800,000 subscribers, but one day he realized he had been prioritizing the wrong things in life.Becky Keife, MA ’18, Shares God’s Love Through WordsBecky shares God’s love through her passion for words. As an author, speaker, and certified conversation copywriter, she truly embraces her talents for writing to make a difference. Earning her master’s degree gave her the space to explore different kinds of writing to discover her calling. Vienna Christensen ’20 Makes a Difference as Outreach Manager at World Relief Western WashingtonAll her life, Vienna has been fascinated with travel, cultures, and uplifting others. As the outreach manager at World Relief Western Washington, Vienna serves Christ by making a difference in refugee resettlement. Her time studying sociology and honors humanities at APU gave Vienna tools to grow as a leader, and she now gets to connect refugee families with welcoming communities.
