Mike Benton ’04 Lives Out His Calling as a Broadcaster for the Seattle Kraken
In the summer of 2021, Mike got a text that changed his life. After nearly two decades of broadcasting for minor league baseball and hockey teams, a colleague texted Mike to see if he was interested in becoming the in-game host for the Seattle Kraken, a National Hockey League (NHL) franchise which would celebrate their inaugural season that fall. Mike, who had dreamed of becoming a broadcaster for an NHL team since he was a kid, replied, “Absolutely!”
Nicky Slavich ’14, MA ’18, Shares the Value of Human Connection
Nicky never thought he would work at Google as a recruiter. By forming meaningful connections, Nicky discovered his career calling. Throughout his journey, Nicky has learned that his identity stems from who God continues creating him to be.

Razel is a testament to the fact that when you pursue your dreams, they really can come true. She is a two-time contestant on Wheel of Fortune, and has garnered a large following on Instagram by documenting her dental school journey, expressing her passion for creativity and science.
Video Editor Jordan Orme ’19 Is Using His Platform to Share His Faith
Jordan experienced massive success quickly after graduating from APU, editing music videos for major artists and creating a YouTube channel which has garnered more than 110 million views and more than 800,000 subscribers, but one day he realized he had been prioritizing the wrong things in life.
Becky Keife, MA ’18, Shares God’s Love Through Words
Becky shares God’s love through her passion for words. As an author, speaker, and certified conversation copywriter, she truly embraces her talents for writing to make a difference. Earning her master’s degree gave her the space to explore different kinds of writing to discover her calling.
Vienna Christensen ’20 Makes a Difference as Outreach Manager at World Relief Western Washington
All her life, Vienna has been fascinated with travel, cultures, and uplifting others. As the outreach manager at World Relief Western Washington, Vienna serves Christ by making a difference in refugee resettlement. Her time studying sociology and honors humanities at APU gave Vienna tools to grow as a leader, and she now gets to connect refugee families with welcoming communities.

The Legacy Brick is an engraved memento that holds the name of the APU graduate or alum and is placed in the walkway in front of the Hartwig Memorial Student Prayer Chapel. Alumni and students alike consider it a very meaningful gift—one that lasts a lifetime.

Kevin Eastway ’01 After graduating with a Doctor of Ministry with his work focused on the Christian practice of fundraising, Kevin wrote a book called Faithful Friendship - Fundraising from the Heart. He now coaches people all over the world in fundraising and organizational development.
Scott Yount ’06 This June, Scott celebrated 10 years as a full-time missionary in Bila Tserkva, Ukraine. During this time, he has worked with orphans and children with special needs through camps, proms, worship services, and more. |
James ’18 and Angela (Pham ’19) Whitfield Please pray for James and Angela as they serve in Cairo, Egypt, working to share the healing and love of Jesus with people seeking refuge from violence, persecution, and economic collapse in their home countries.
Bailey Wilson ’18 Congratulations to Bailey, CEO and founder of Bondi Bowls, on the grand opening of her Huntington Beach store! Many APU alumni, staff, and faculty came out to support Bailey on this exciting day. Bondi Bowls’ newest store is managed by alumni couple Trevor ’21 and Cari (Ross ’22) Todd.
