NMF on the Road

Recently, at the AAMC Learn, Serve, Lead 2023 Conference in Seattle, Washington Antonia Molina—an NMF programs manager— had the pleasure of presenting the Franklin C. McLean Award to Oumou Fofana, and the William and Charlotte Cadbury Award to Luis Torres-Gonzalez. Another NMF scholar, Amani Allen was awarded the Herbert W. Nickens Medical Student Scholarship. Please join us in congratulating these brilliant scholars! 

NMF also proudly attended the American Public Health Association (APHA) Conference in Atlanta, alongside 34 Health Equity Leaders Program scholars. Ten outstanding scholars presented their posters, including Paul Delgado, ScM. Their research focuses on a curriculum that aims to address existing health disparities in the Hispanic/Latine population of Tulsa, Oklahoma through the implementation of "Cuida tu salud: Talleres de prevención de enfermedades cardiovasculares y estilos de vida saludable".

Meet Edward Robinson

NMF advances representation within the health care workforce. Recently, we had the pleasure of speaking with Edward Robinson – a fourth-year student at Morehouse School of Medicine and a Johnson & Johnson/NMF Alliance for Inclusion in Medicine (AIM) scholar – and learned about his unique story and journey through medical school.

Scholar Opportunities

Medical Students of Color Wellness Circles

NMF has partnered with The Steve Fund to offer a series of monthly virtual Wellness Circles to NMF scholars! Facilitated by mental health experts, these sessions provide scholars with a safe and intimate space to explore the unique challenges they encounter in their academic and professional journeys, and the impact on their mental health.  
 
These Wellness Circles are free, and scholars will receive gift cards for attending. The Wellness Circles will be held virtually from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. ET on December 13, January 17, and February 14.
