JOTTINGS OF
A PERSONAL JEWELLER

JULY 2024 NEWSLETTER

Hello!

And welcome to my July newsletter. Winter in Melbourne is in full swing and though the jewellery trade generally quietens down for the next few months, I seem to be busier than ever! There’s some great new pieces coming through in the collection so have a look at the website and see if you can be tempted.

If I was to point out something of great value and literally there are only a handful left, it’s the freshwater Keshi pearl flake necklaces. They're long (just over 87cms), colourful and such a great price and I know NEVER to be repeated. So if you want something a little different and easy to wear, purchase one before they run out. I have 3 multi-coloured ones and 2 pink and grey ones left. At $450.00 each, they are great value as well as wearable.

In the media

Last month in my regular slot with Trevor Chappell on ABC Radio Melbourne 774, I talked about a multitude of things; white gold versus yellow gold or platinum, cameos, values when selling and Opals- it really was a very full 12-minute time slot!

Jewel of the month

Victorian gold and white enamel brooch.

Finally, if I was to choose my favourite piece from the collection this month, it would have to be this simply gorgeous Victorian gold and white enamel Celtic Cross brooch/locket, with hinged fitting so it can also be worn as a pendant. It is in the most amazing condition, almost as though it hasn’t been worn since being made around 1875. It measures 48mm across at its widest point.

So that’s it for this month, keep warm, keep thinking about what jewels you can give me to re-invent, and finally if travelling overseas for the European Summer have a wonderful time and buckle up on that flight!

Warmly,
